My radical and controversial viewpoint is that everyone that has said they want to leave the US because Dubya won should be given free airfare and moving costs and forced out!! I really wish these folks would L-E-A-V-E!
|
It's not so much that *I* want to leave the US.. but if New York were to leave the US and join Canada I would actually be in favor of that. Luckily I know that NY will never officially ban gay marriage or anything else like that. However, I'm ashamed to be going to school in Missouri right now.
All this election taught me is to be selfish. I am very pro choice and very much in favor of gay marriage, while I neither want an abortion nor a same-sex marriage for myself. Bush won't really affect me with his policies, but I'm against them anyway for the principle of it. I guess I just need to tell myself.. "well, it doesn't directly affect me so I can deal with another 4 years of Bush"

If only "we" were enlightened like the other 89% because they couldn't possibly be brainwashed give me a break!
I actually feel great every time someone questions my blackness or calls me brainwashed...it actually says a lot about you...the fact that you don't agree or understand with our viewpoints...we're somehow brainwashed...Please!

"Successful" (depending on your definition) black folks that look down on not-so-successful black folks. Or those that have a superiority complex.

Errrr...that's in every race. Just the weekend before last I was traveling out in the boonies with some white buddies...they were pointing and laughing at the messed up trailers we were passing. I don't see this as a selling out thing...classist, yes.

well, i don't agree with above. say what you will but i KNOW that i KNOW that if it had not been for the Lord and my people's faith in Him, we wouldn't even be able to vote, let alone have a computer to complain about the president.
now, maybe that's my radical and controversial moment, but it is what i believe.

I believe that people that are overweight (excluding medical problems) usually have problems with discipline that is evident in other parts of their lives i.e. excessive spending habits, inconsistent relationsips etc.
I believe that women who have had multiple sex partners and are now 35+ looking for a man to marry them have excess emotional baggage and shouldn't be surprised when a man doesn't want someone who's been around...
I believe if you have more than 1 membership to a message board and are a consistent poster (at least once a day) you may have some issues forming relationships with people face to face..

I think the legal drinking age should be 18. If you let them go off and die for their country, it should be legal for them to drink a beer when they return.
I also think it should be illegal to be stupid, punishable by death.
 Just kidding

Well, hell I agree with them. We do have TWO choices. So, why didn't you CHOOSE an HBCU. Do you think the white man's ice is colder?

Hell Yeah! At the "white man's" school I got a full ride (the HBCU did NOT offer any money); I got a prompt response (the HBCU sent my acceptance letter seven months later). Considering my GPA was well over a 4.0, my test scores were very high, and I applied very early in the school year, I was quite offended when that school did NOT offer me any money and waited too long to send my acceptance letter. Thank You

Something controversial in the same town would be how SOME of the black people at FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY think that they are smarter and overall better than the black people at FLORIDA A&M UNIVERSITY. Seriously, THEY need to get over it. I mean, I had an outstanding high school grade point average with matching SAT scores, but chose FAMU over FSU because of heritage and a family legacy. And to think, I wouldn't trade in my experience at FAMU with anything FSU could offer.
Rattlers STRIKE! STRIKE! and STRIKE AGAIN!

I just saw Hotel Rwanda and my radical and controversial thought is how in the end, even in a film such as this, white people are always depicted as coming through to save the day. Talk about egocentrism.
