I would have thought they would have mentioned some women from their sororities. If the women they mentioned are KDs, DGs, or Delta Delta Deltas--then I digress. I just thought it was strange.

Also, I can't find a website for Sigma Gamma and I didn't see them recognized on the University of Leeds website. Are they still an actual organization or was this just television? Either way, it was a really interesting show!
That was my point about urban legends. Of all the women mentioned, I believe only Condoleezza Rice is/was an actual sorority member.

Really liked the last episode, feel like the girls have really bonded.
Didn't like the initiation right after Topaz leaving though and I hoped they would go back to the "ritual room" for initiation.
So sad it was only 8 episodes!
Tought I was going to hate it but at times it was so over the top that it was just funny.
I need a second season now!

After watching the season finale, I googled Sigma Gamma Leeds to see if there was any info on another season of the show or the continuation of the group and was unable to find anything. But, I did find a short article about how Leeds University banned the show from entering or filming on the campus. So, though the show seems to promote that the group has ties to the university, it seems to not be the case.

here's the article:

The show was shot in a month's time, so I imagine that they had to condense the number of "pledges" and number of episodes.

I would have absolutely cut Char-Char, the self proclaimed BNOC. As the housemother pointed out, she was an ice queen and acted like she deserved membership more than anybody else. In contrast, Topaz (although she had a definite tough exterior and made some bad choices) was the fastest to stand up for her sisters when they were being attacked. Remember when one of the girls ran out of the room at cut, all upset because she was on the firing line? Topaz ran after her to comfort her and talk her down. That was really risky for her personally and she won me over that day.

Having just got to the end of it all, I hope someone tells them that going forward they don't actually have to cut 2/3 of each pledge class

It's not new. TLC is airing what aired in the U.K.

Okay, between this show and Toddlers and Tiaras, I move to rename TLC to something that doesn't include the word 'learning'. I'm not sure what I'm 'learning' right now, except that the British girls they recruited for this are a unique bunch. Funny that the sisters didn't bother to memorize their pref speeches. I did really enjoy how absolutely horrified the president looked at some of the girls who came to the first round. Either she wasn't warned ahead of time or she's a great actress.

I was reminded of this trainwreck of a show this afternoon. I was out running some errands and ended up behind a car with a window decal that read - I kid you not - LYLAS Sol Sisters.

In the show, the "Sorority Girls" used the acronym LYLAS, which stood for "Love You Like A Sister".

Turns out there's a 13-member running group in my area called LYLAS Sol Sisters. Lyla is the name of the daughter of one of the members. The girl was diagnosed with a neuroblastoma, so the members named the group for her.

I wonder what ever happened to Sigma Gamma? Google only turns up information about the show, and the "sorority" was never officially acknowledged by the University of Leeds, so there's nothing on the university's web site.

A lot of girls at my university are pretty pissed off at this show ...

Best thing to say is to not get too overworked over it, IT doesn't get much better.
