Does anyione know why there's an icon in Westminster Abbey? It's shown during the singing of "God Save the Queen". I was under the impression that icons are only properly seen in Orthodox Churches or by members.
Also, at what point did the front piece of Catherine's veil get thrown over the tiara? As much as I loved her dress, the veil over the tiara bit bothered me.
Lastly (for now), I heard the talking heads pushing for a Prince Harry/Pippa Middleton match. Can you just imagine the Middletons' response to that?! They'd be cartwheeling down the aisle!

Harry and Pippa would be cute together, but a little weird. I like her more than Chelsy, that's for sure.

When "God Save the Queen" was playing I totally recognized the tune to some song we (Americans) sing. (Can't think of it right now for the life of me). I was like "why do we have a song to that tune" then I was like "duh Brianna the founding fathers of American came from Britain". Oh lordy, good thing I was at home by myself and not in front of my students. LOL.
As for Chelsy, she looked disheveled and hungover for the wedding. IMPO.

Pippa needs to lay off the spray tan. Her skin is nearly the color of Harry's hair.

Has anyone caught any pictures of Pippa from last night?
Too much tan, but...

And just for fun, what do you think the parents (and/or grandparents) of the latest Royal Newlyweds are doing tonight?
I think the Middletons will have a few drinks and send out for pizza.

While icons are certainly a prominent feature of Orthodox churches, they are also seen in Anglican/Episcopal churches and Catholic churches. I've also seen them in them in Presbyterian, Methodist and Lutheran contexts as well.
I think, though, you'll only see an iconostasis (icon screen separating the altar area from the rest of the church) in Orthodox or Eastern Rite Catholic churches.

her father lifted her veil.
my husband and i decided that chelsy had grabbed harry before the wedding and had a quickie behind the church. that's why she looked so disheveled.
btw, the today show interviewed a designer in california who has already produced a copy of kate's wedding dress. he said that he had been contacted by lord and taylor. after the interview the co-host said that the copy would sell for 5-800 dollars-that doesn't sound right if it will be sold at lord and taylor!

Monique Lhullier has released her newest bridal collection, which includes a Catherine and a Pippa style- the Catherine dress is very nice, imo. Sleeves and all.

In my many years of "examining" various churches, I have never seen an icon outside of a brand of Orthodoxy (or in the home of a follower of Orthodoxy). That shocks me - especially the Presbyterian & Methodist!

I must haqve missed her father doing so - I know that's how it's usually done.
And I agree with you & your husband about Chelsy! On top of everthing else, her roots looked huge! Surely a royal wedding is something for which one has her roots done!

There were LOTS of women with bad hair. Seriously, if you are wearing a hat, get some gel, slick it into a bun or side pony, put on the effing hat and call it a day. Not hard yo.
