See how easy appeals to authority are? Difference is, mine are right. See how easy that was too?

Are we finished here?

Nothing, I fear. His logic does not resemble our earth logic.

Apologies.... 9 months.... fact still remains and the point is unchanged.... The 9/11 attacks were planned and put into motion before Bush was elected. Have you ever used a tenkey? The 9 is at the top right and the 3 at the bottom right, which is the exact opposite as a telephone. Sometimes my fingers get mixed up when I type.

The real idiot is the one you are aiding with your comment.

More un American comments

Classic and so well deserved. The Bushwacker dodging and ducking the truth like he's done for the last eight years. George Bush has been and will go down in history as an insult to the American Presidency. Every Republican and "born againer" alive who voted for him should feel ashamed and embarrassed for allowing this sorry excuse for a President the opportunity to turn our country into an international and domestic "train wreck".

Watching the interview with The Chimp after the incident was appalling; "I don't know what his beef was." Gee genius, maybe it had something to do with the 10s of thousands of dead Iraqis your excellent little war has killed? Perhaps something to do with the complete disaster your post war policies made of his country. What a repulsive human being our president is.

I just wish the guy had better aim. Oh well at least he had a chance to do what I am sure many many others wish they could do.
George W. Bush - The worst leader of any country in the history of the world. Ever.

honoring the troops?... please, the only way bush can honestly honor our troups would be to bring them home and apologize and take responsibility for the deaths and injuries caused to tens of thousands of humans... what a war criminal... can we press charges against him and his administration yet?

Too bad the shoe hurler missed...I think that was the reason they carted him away. Man, and after also his lessons...

Seriously though, how long has it been since you've witnessed a president that was so reviled by the public. I've lived through 12 president administrations and none received, nor deserved, the level of public animosity directed at bush. In that, he's in a class by himself.

Paul,
Bush wasn't honoring the troops. He is trying to save his 'legacy', put a little shine on it. He'd spend his time more productively trying to put shine on a manure pile. He is one of history's worst leaders, and most certainly the worst president this country has seen. Hopefully, we'll never experience another this bad. When will the Bush apologists quit making excuses for this lying, self delusional piece of work?

Our pseudo-president, who was too cowardly to honestly serve his country in uniform when he was called, has caused the suffering and deaths of untold thousands. He is justifiably hated by all moral people, except, of course by his neo-con clique of bullies and Evangelical hypocrites. If justice prevailed, he would have been arrested in Iraq and prosecuted for crimes against humanity.

Whoever threw it - may God or Allah bless you....! Just sorry you missed the war criminal!

Y'all have a good day.

Bush Doormat in Baghdad Hotel Dismantled
Created: 4/11/2003 10:34:52 AM Updated: 4/11/2003 10:37:02 AM

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- There was a bit of unfinished business left over in Baghdad from the 1991 Gulf War. The U.S. Army has taken care of it.

At the Al-Rashid Hotel, President Bush the elder - father of the current American chief executive who ordered this year's invasion of Iraq - is a doormat no more.

U.S. soldiers visited the battered Al-Rashid on Thursday night wielding hammers and chisels, and dug out the intricate tile mosaic of the former president that was used for years as a state-sponsored insult.

In its place, they laid a portrait of Saddam Hussein.

"Everybody walked over it and wiped their feet on it," Lt. Col. Rick Schwartz, the battalion commander said. He left the Saddam portrait behind, on the ground for future use.

Taking shoes to the face is not exactly a compliment in any culture, but in the Arab world it's a particular slam. Pointing the soles of one's feet at someone is a grave insult.

So the notion of thousands of Iraqi feet trudging over the patrician features of George Herbert Walker Bush was particularly appealing to Saddam's regime, humiliated by Bush during the 1991 Gulf War to free Kuwait from Iraqi invaders.

Saddam persoanlly picked the Al-Rashid for the insult to Bush senior. The hotel was heavily trafficked by foreign guests and the base of operations for journalists during the 1991 war - and the place where, on the night of the first American airstrike in January 1991, Arab guests huddled in the basement and shouted "Death to Bush."

The mosaic, an unflattering portrait of Bush with his teeth bared in a scowl, was installed later in 1991 right in the Al-Rashid's doorway complete with a caption in Arabic and English: "Bush is criminal."

The location made it almost impossible to avoid. And for years, it worked.

Interesting that an image of Hussein replaced it.

Wonder if that will change too if and when we leave.

Well come on, it's changed my mind. If anonymous interweb posters are approving of attempted assault on the President...well, then that's all I need to hear!

Seriously though - the fact that some posters agree with you doesn't make the opinion more palatable to the rest of us. Read some of the garbage that is posted in the comments sections of sites ranging from espn.com to any number of newspapers. No one is saying you're alone in your opinion, DS; they're just saying that they disagree, no matter how many people tend to share your sentiments.

I'll give you this - you've managed to unite a group of people who, in some cases, have widely divergent political opinions. I think you've done more in this thread to unite liberals and conservatives than anyone else on GC.
