I thought this was interesting...I'm glad they will be back a 3rd season, I want Whitney to beat Emily for the Vogue position.
MTV Keeps Hills Alive

The Hills will, like, keep on rolling for a third season.
The Laguna Beach spinoff, featuring the adventures of Hollywood "It Girls" Lauren, Heidi, Whitney and Audrina, is currently MTV's number one show, with an average of 2.7 million viewers tuning in each week.
According to the network's calculations, the series reached a total of 60 million viewers over the course of the second season, and delivered nearly 18 million show-related streams online, including close to 1 million streams of the live After Show finale special.
Because the live show was such a success, MTV plans to repeat the special at the conclusion of the third season, while continuing to air after-show webisodes following each episode.
The third season, which debuts this summer, will have plenty of drama to resolve, as the second season concluded with Heidi Montag moving out of the apartment she shared with Lauren Conrad in order to cohabitate with her shifty boyfriend, Spencer Pratt.
As we learned from Lauren at the end of the first season, when she elected to spend the summer with then-boyfriend Jason Wahler, rather than traveling to Paris on behalf of Teen Vogue, these things rarely work out.
For now, however, Lauren and Heidi are, like, totally not even friends, according to a Hills insider, who told Us Weekly the girls "never talk or hang out. Spencer achieved his goal and broke them apart."
However, Heidi's mom, Darlene Egelhoff, told Radar Online that although Lauren and Spencer do not get along, the girls are still in touch and taking "positive steps" in their relationship.
"Heidi does have the tendency to be an all-or-nothing person, and it has been a fault of hers in the past to drop her friends when she is in a serious relationship," Egelhoff said. "She knows that about herself, and her sister and I are always asking if she is giving Lauren enough attention. But Lauren and Heidi lived together for two years and gave a lot to each other, and I think this separation will be a good thing for them."
Or at the very least, a good thing for The Hills' third-season plotline.
During the live after-show broadcast from New York Monday, Lauren admitted that things with Heidi were "definitely different."
However, she hasn't ruled out reconciling with her former BFF in the future, provided Heidi cuts the conniving Spencer loose.
"I love Heidi. I was in a similar situation with her last year when I moved out with my boyfriend," Lauren told Us Weekly recently. "Heidi and I barely talked, but as soon as we broke up, she was there for me, and it only made our friendship stronger."
Heidi was noticeably absent from the live After Show broadcast Monday, which was originally believed to a consequence of her ongoing feud with Lauren.
But according to Us Weekly, Heidi simply had other plans that day—namely getting breast implants at the office of Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Frank Ryan, an augmentation she'd reportedly been plotting for some time.
"Heidi just doesn't want to make a big deal out of it," a source told the magazine. "She did this for herself, and she's hoping to keep it as private as possible."
That seems to be going well for her so far.
Meanwhile, after rumors started flying recently about the existence of a sex tape starring Lauren and her ex-boyfriend, Jason, the Hills star spoke up Thursday to firmly deny that she ever participated in such a sordid activity.
"Jason and I would like to make it clear that we did not make a tape with us having sex," Lauren wrote in a statement on her Website. "Jason and I are both shocked and hurt that people would say such horrible things about us. I can't believe that somebody would go to such great lengths to try to damage my reputation."
It seems she draws the line at cameras in the bedroom.
