Wow y'all, she made a mistake and admitted that. Cut her some slack. And last I heard, silver was nothing to complain about.

bull shit, she screwed up a chance to sweep a medal event for her country. she should be ashamed. the olympics is no place to showboat and screw around with the prestige that comes with winning a gold metal.

That was sad, but at least we now know the Canadian men are human.

However, I still say that Mr. Nash should have had that goal.

Did anyone see the interview with Shani Davis the speed skater dude after he won the gold medal? Does anyone know about the surrounding drama with the US mens speed skating team, because the guy did not look or sound excited/happy to have won the gold medal. I was like "don't worry, be happy, you just got the gold!" The reporter lady was kinda bitchy to him, but he acted like he would rather be getting a root canal than talking to her.

I saw that, too, and heard the various reporters commenting on it. You just know that there's a story behing it; I just pray that it isn't racist!

based on this story on sports illustrated: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200....ap/index.html i think it has more to do with shani bucking the team and going for himself first

One story from ESPN on the subject

Apparently the beef is between Chad and Shani

ETA: Thanks for the link jillybean, I did some investigating on my own too! But seriously, if there is beef between them, and Shani beat out Chad, why wouldn't he be estatic about winning the gold?

actually I am watching ESPN and alot of it was race driven. He was receiving racist letters and death threats.

Last night the sports host on CKNW told us don't go jumping off any bridges, blow ourselves up or do anything rash yet. He concluded by saying, if we lose to Finland then it's time hit the panic button...

I think Quinn rested Brodeur because there is another game tomorrow and I think he wanted Brodeur to be rested and not play 2 games one right after another. I know Luongo played well but I wonder if the result would have been different?

I was wondering the same thing myself - Luongo is good, but Brodeur is the best!
