Mimi title explanation, from her website:

So here it is..."Mimi" is a very personal nickname only used by those closest to me...just one of those little things that I've kept for myself in an attempt to have some delineation between a public persona and a private life. By naming the album The Emancipation of Mimi I am letting my guard down and inviting my fans to be that much closer to me..Most importantly, I am celebrating the fact that I've grown into a person and artist who no longer feels imprisoned by my insecurities or compelled to try and live up to someone else's vision of "Mariah Carey" I now feel I can honestly say "this is me, the real me, take it or leave it" For the first time in my life, I feel free and unashamed to be who I really am..And that's what the music of this album and it's title reflect..

A few comments:

1. Bobbi Kristina looks like a completely different kid. She's definately dropped about 20lbs. Hopefully she didn't find Whit & Bobby's stash late one night. I do agree that they could have taken her to the hair dresser before her party. Looks like a cute party - not ghetto fab like Celo's daughter's party shown on MTV.

2. AJ's girlfriend - I'm sorry, but I don't think she's pretty at all. But then again, she's with AJ who doesn't look much better himself. I guess he's not with Mariah Carey anymore.

3. Mariah - I liked her back in the day when she first came out. After that, she lost me.

I was like, okay they could have at least gave her a nice lil perm and got them edges together. If we think back, her hair looks a lot better than Whitney's did when she was BK's age.

Also, I maybe a lil old fashioned in this sense, but I would not have my 12 year old wearing make up. I'ont care nothing about her birthday or her porty.......that's too young if you ask me.

But all jokes aside she has a pretty face and honestly looks better than her chemically imbalanced mama and her jail house daddy.

Bill Cosby opens up in the latest issue of the National Enquirer and he apologizes to his wife Camille. Bill says he's sorry for the pain he has caused her. Camille has stood by her husband time and time again. Remember the Autumn Jackson scandal? A few weeks ago Bill Cosby made headlines when a Canadian woman accused him of drugging and molesting her at his suburban Philadelphia home. Police found no evidence to back up her claims and he was not charged. The woman is planning on filing a civil suit. Cosby chose the National Enquirer to tell his side of the story as a way of saying thanks. Back in 1997, the National Enquirer offered the one hundred thousand dollar reward that led to the arrest of the man who murdered his son Ennis. Cosby says he realizes his celebrity makes him a target and he cannot be so trusting with people.

Gerald Levert will not face assault charges in his recent arrest. Police found no evidence that he caused serious harm to the cops who arrested him. Earlier this month Gerald was arrested and pepper sprayed when he tried to help a female friend who was stopped by the cops. Gerald will be on hand as his dad, along with The O'Jays, are inducted into the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame on the 14th. The show will air in the 19th on VH1.

When the Broadway musical "Dreamgirls" is made into a musical will Oscar winner Jamie Foxx be in it? The movie is currently being cast and producers want Jamie to play the male lead.

Chaka Khan's son Damien has been rearrested for murder. 25 year old Damien Holland turned himself into police when an investigation into the death of a 17 year old led them to him. Last year Damien was arrested and charged in the shooting death of a 17 year old teenager, but the charges were dropped and the shooting was ruled an accident. Upon further investigation police found evidence that revealed the teenager's death was no accident. Damien has pleaded not guilty and he is out on bail.

Benny Medina has made a choice -- J-Lo or Mariah Carey? He is sticking with Mariah Carey. Medina is managing Mariah and he was planning on reuniting with Jennifer Lopez. Medina made J-Lo a star, but she dumped him two years ago. J-Lo needs a career boost right now and she was hoping to re-team with Benny, but Benny signed a deal to manage Mariah Carey and Mariah hates J-Lo. Years ago Jennifer teamed up with Mariah's ex-husband and stole some music from her. The songs ended up on J-Lo's album and Mariah went off the deep end. Mariah told Benny to make a choice J-Lo or her and Benny honored his contract and stayed with Mariah. In the meantime it's a loss for J-Lo. Her latest album, Rebirth, is not doing well sales wise when you consider her previous projects. It also doesn't help that her husband Marc Anthony insists on her having her try to sing live. I love J-Lo, but she is not a singer.

Tyler Perry has signed a seven DVD deal with Lions Gate Films. You will be able to purchase your favorites including "I Can Do Bad All By Myself," "Madea's Family Reunion" and "Meet The Browns". "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" will be available on DVD and VHS in early summer. BET played a big part in helping Tyler promote his movie and they want people to know BET Pictures were very instrumental in the movies success.

Woman Thou Art Loosed, The Bishop T.D. Jakes movie with Kimberly Elise is now available on DVD and VHS.

The "Godfather of Soul" James Brown is almost 80 years old and he recently stated that he has no plans to retire. He says he will remain the hardest working man in show business and despite his troubled marriage he will not divorce his 33 year old wife. Last year Brown was arrested for beating up his young wife. The two were arguing about the status of her first marriage and if she was still legally married to her first husband. Brown felt he was getting played and lost it.

Are Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri married? They say they're not, but we all know Janet has a history of lying about her marriages. Director Brett Ratner let the cat of the bag in a recent interview. He said JD was a married man now and can't hang out with him as much. Ratner then backtracked and said he meant to say JD is tied down like a married man. Hmmmmmmmmmm??? Meanwhile Janet's first hubby, James Debarge, is making headlines during Michael Jackson's child molestation case. Prosecutors have dug up an old interview he did in
1993, where he claimed there was something strange going on between his former brother-in-law and Bubbles, the chimp. James says Michael would get carried away when he had to change the chimp's diapers. James and Janet were married in 1985.

There is life after Halle Berry for Eric Benet and who is the woman who is brave enough to date the serial cheater? Actress Essence Atkins, who stars on the UPN show Half and Half. The two have been dating for the past month. Eric's new CD, The Hurricane, comes out at the end of the month.

After the whopping success of her ABC movie Their Eyes Were Watching God, Oprah Winfrey wants to tell the life story of Lena Horne. Oprah wants to do the project with Alicia Keys. Alicia is currently on tour and working on new music for Whitney Houston. Alicia has written a song, a duet, she hopes to record with Whitney.

Ruben Studdard is suing his Godfather! Ruben hired his Godfather to be his advisor and then he realized he was missing a quarter of a million dollars. Ruben's Godfather worked for him for a year before he realized he was being ripped off. Ruben is currently suing his Godfather to get his money back.

Toni Braxton's sister Towanda Braxton-Carter is facing criminal charges in Georgia for forgery and theft. Towanda recently starred on the daytime show, Starting Over, and she sang in the group The Braxtons.

Harvard University has a bone to pick with Jada Pinkett Smith. Jada was recently at the school to participate in their cultural rhythm show and accept an award. During the festivities Jada delivered a speech that offended bisexuals, gays, transgenders and their supporters. What did Jada say? Mrs. Smith is not known for holding her tongue and the school wants an apology. Meanwhile what's up with Will Smith constantly kissing his Hitch co-star Eva Mendes. I know you have to promote your movie, but please stop the kissing. You're married and its starting to look bad. A friend of mine recently sent me 10 different photos of him kissing on Eva during promotional appearances.

Singer Joss Stone will be the new spokesperson for The Gap.

Guess whose coming to television? Gabrielle Union will be co-starring in the new Nightstalker television show on ABC. Eriq LaSalle will be starring in the CBS legal drama, Conviction. La Salle will be playing an assistant district attorney. Larenz Tate (Love Jones, Ray, Why do Fool Fall in Love) will be co-starring in the CBS comedy Love Monkey. Andre Braugher and Malik Yoba will be starring in the FX series, Thief.

Danny Glover has started his own movie production company. Glover says he was frustrated with the lack of films dealing with social issues.

The Soul Train Awards air on Saturday, March 12th. The show will be hosted by Fantasia, Brian McKnight, Nick Cannon and the newly engaged Nicole Richie.

The 36th Annual NAACP Image Awards air March 25th on Fox. Barack Obama, the new senator from Illinois, will be getting the night's highest honor with the "Chairman Award." Prince will be getting the "Vanguard Award."
