Thanks Nicole!

You know, I'll have to get up to Boston next year to take in a game. Or maybe the powers-that-be will will finally let the NLE play the ALE again and I can see the Sox at Shea or the Mets at Fenway.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but the curse is in the World Series is it not? So while they have beaten the hated Yankees, they've still got 4 more games to win before the curse is over.

They haven't WON a WS since 1918, but they've certainly found numerous ways to blow them since then.

Yeah, the 'stros have had a great run since then, too . . . kidding brother, kidding

The whole thing about the curse just needs to stop - it's just a good story that Dan Shaughnessy likes to talk about, a wive's tale, a farce. It never existed - unless the white sox have some sort of 'curse of shoeless joe' to keep them champion-free?

This was a big series for a billion reasons more important than "the curse of the bambino" - maybe the history, maybe the rivalry, maybe just the actual games being played. No curse.

Considering the fact that y'all had a what? 60 year head start on us as a franchise? And i'll contend that its harder to compete year in and year out today then it was in the early 1900's.

Except if you're the Evil Empire of course.

Co-sign!
I also remember as a kid spending summers with my grandmother in Boston and bugging (and begging) her to get one of my uncles to take me to games at Fenway

My grandmother is still here (going strong at 86) but my favorite uncle passed away in 2002

Yes I also cheer for anyone playing the Yankees!

I don't think there is a curse. If there was Boston would have never gotten past the Yankees. The New York papers just want to sell issues.

I was brought up in a baseball family. I've cheered against the Yankees for a good ten years, minimum, thank you. I've even cheered against the Yankees at Yankee Stadium. I think I have a handle on it.

And since those are particularly crappy New York papers, I wouldn't put too much creedence into what they had to say.
