We have some great talent in American Idol this year. I was very impressed with Jen too. But the performance of the night was Latoya...that girl can BLOW!! Fantasia did really well too, but she's a star regardless to if she wins or not. George did sound a little off last night. He did too much--but I loved the song he sang. The performers are awesome!

Jennifer is cool but I wish she could put together some decent outfits. That jacket she had on last night looked like she snatched it from someone right before hitting the stage and realized it was too small. But the girl can sing!!

Article on AI reject William Hung
http://www.ocweekly.com/ink/04/32/cover-ng.php
David Ng, the writer, brings up some thought-provoking points on William Hung. In short, Mr. Ng is not a fan of Mr. Hung and believes that Mr. Hung is promoting stereotypes of the sexless Asian male.

I normally don't do this.. but this was a C-O-N SPIRACY.. I refuse to believe that Jennifer Hudson, Latoya London, and Fantasia Barrino had the lowest number of votes....
John Stevens the New American Idol?? Could Happen
I think they felt it was time for an African American to get voted off

I really think I am going to stop watching this show! It has turned into a hot mess. I am having flash back of last season and Carmen (the blonde chick who could not sing)!

The minute that Ryan told George to go to the "highest vote group" without telling him which side, I was totally worried, because I could see how it was going to go down.
But it makes sense, in a sad sort of way:
Hawaii is voting their asses off for Jasmine.
JPL fans are probably voting for Jon.
Dianabot fans are voting for Diana.
Women who like cute guys who can sing are voting for George.
People who thought that the three "divas" were great (and they were all three *amazing* the past two weeks!) either a) thought they were safe and voted for George to "save" him, and/or b) they were voting for all three and thus could only call in 1/3 of the votes for each woman.
If you can make, say, 100 calls in your two hours, and they all go to Jon, he gets 100 votes. But if you're voting for Jennifer and Fantasia and Latoya, they'll only get 33-34 votes each from you. Jon wins easily. And if you're throwing George a few votes too, then maybe you're only giving each of them 25 votes.
The powerhouses are splitting the vote, because they're all that damn good. Jennifer's vote will now likely be split between Fantasia (I still don't like her, but she can sing well in a style that I don't always appreciate...), Latoya (seems wonderful), and maybe George (because he's running a bit hot and cold right now, and he'll either deserve the vote or get "save him" votes).
I hope that Jennifer gets a record contract. Like Kim, she showed growth during the competition and has been developing her own style. (I have no doubt at all that Fantasia and Latoya will get record contracts of some sort or another, but I don't know whether Jennifer will have the same ease in getting one... no reasons, just an odd hunch...)

Yeah! I agree!
I didn't see it, but my husband told me about it the second I stepped foot in the house. Like I said earlier, she was never one of my favorites, but she was growing on me. Never did I expect this though.

Maybe I am being hypersensitive but I think what made those 3 go into the bottom 3 way too soon was that the judges and Ryan Seacrest kept calling them the divas. IMO, that word is tossed around too much these days. So I am sure that being called diva hurt the voting for these three. Also because I mistakenly text voted for Jasmine 3 times and Jennifer one time. Also I really doubt that AMERICA wants 3 Black women to be in the top 3. Last week all the Black folks + Jasmine were safe and that did not sit well at all with AMERICA.
Thanks Kateshort for the explanation.
Count on next week me texting for 2 hours ALL FOR LATOYA!!!

Exactly CT4...I think this just means that we have to really get out there and vote. There is no way that Jenifer should have been voted off. That' was straight up WACK! But there's hope, people. Fantasia, Jenifer, and LaToya are going to get contracts regardless to if they win, so I'm not worried about it at all.
Did you all see their reactions when they found out that they were the bottom three? Jenifer really looked frightened. Off the chain!

I'm of two minds about it. I think that Ryan et. al. calling them divas did hurt them-- I'm sure people felt that those three would be the top three, and so maybe didn't vote as frantically for them as they might for Jasmine or others who they saw as "in danger". Why else would Jennifer be the very top one week and the bottom the next? Because she sang well one week and avoided the bottom three... thus the next week some of her supporters tried to make sure people like, say, George or Jasmine wouldn't go... and didn't vote for her thinking she was safe.
I'm one fraction of white America (hopefully not in the stupid fraction), and I wouldn't have minded seeing LaToya, Jennifer, Fantasia, and George duking it out in the top four, with maybe Jasmine right behind. I really felt that they were the stronger overall singers the past few weeks. I'd love to see all four of them get record contracts. Well, I kind of hate Fantasia half the time, but I have to admit that she *can* sing, and was blown away by Summertime.
(I like Jasmine okay... And I'd like to see Jon Stevens get a contract too, but singing classic oldies rat pack stuff...!)
I know that George and Jon looked about ready to *sob* when they saw Jennifer go-- same with the other two girls... they knew she was *good*, heck, she *is* good, and that it should have been one of them to go based on this and last week's performances. Hopefully people will remember to vote on talent.
I wonder whether Jennifer's vote will be evenly split between Fantasia, LaToya, and/or George...

I think the theories about Simon are correct. . .
I think the man likes himself some dark meat!
Didja hear what he said after he talked to Fantasia about her performance? He told her that she sounded like a cartoon character. She took it in stride and said that some folks told her that she looked like Bugs Bunny. He gave her the "once over" and said "More like Jessica Rabbit!"
Don't know if you remember the immortal words of Jessica:
"I'm not bad - I'm just drawn that way. . ."

I will send nothing but text message votes for Latoya tonight who looked great and really PERFORMED tonight. Her vocals were kind of blah but her performance enhanced so much.
