The killer can't be Tony, he's supposed to be killed at some point, and we as the viewers will find out who the killer is when he/she finishes Tony off. I've read that this is supposed to happen on Jan. 28.

I don't believe that it is any of the 7 original suspects, and I also don't believe that it's John. They just wouldn't make it that obvious. Judging by the utter shock on Roman's face when he pulled the mask off of the killer, I'd say it's Marlena. Although I haven't been watching Days long enough to know who the heck "Hattie" is, I hear that it is someone who looks like just like Marlena... so maybe that's who it is. My other guess would be Phillip, but I can't think of any reason why he would do it. But doesn't anyone think it's odd that he didn't show up at his own mother's wedding until after Roman had been killed?

God, I haven't watched Days in forever, so all of this is new to me.

But...Hattie was just some random waitress Dr. Rolf and Stefano transformed to wreak havoc as Marlena on Salem.

I duno I think the Phillip thing is just another ploy to make us think he's a suspect. He always pops in at weird moments. I still think John might have something to do with it, but maybe Marlena since she was blaming it on John and went all crazy?

True... but none of the characters on the show have really ever said, "Hey where's Phillip?" or "I think Phillip is the killer." And when he does show up at weird times, he always says that he was doing Marine stuff and no one ever questions it. Perhaps he is the killer, and this is all some weird twisted master plan to get Belle. Just kidding .

I don't think it's Stefano because all of the victims were really surprised of who it is.

Doesn't Sami and Kate know who it is cuz the killer went after them and Roman tore the mask off or whatever?

This storyline is gettin really annoying. They need to just tell us who it is.

the stefano thing w/ my mom was more of a joke than anything, but we thought about it again today when someone mentioned him. they never MENTION names in soap operas, it always means something. but then again, the build of the killer is definately NOT stefano. it's just a thought.

anyway- i just wanted to comment on the banter between tony and marlaina today. i thought the acting was SUPERB and it was actually very UN-soap opera. when he was going off about how he's not the killer and how it wouldn't be fair of marlaina to let the real killer go free, i was highly impressed. i think they did a wonderful job with that scene because it was perfectly intense, without being over-the-top and cheesy.
props to them.

LuaBlanca, I was sorta on the phone during that scene, but in general, I have been seeing a LOT of good acting on Days.

Hell, I'd act my heart out, too, if I didn't know if I was going to be welcome back from week to week.

Anyway, I sat here and re-read the majority of all of these posts in this thread....and really....NONE of us are happy with this storyline. The most it's doing is attracting some looky-loos and old fans who just want to see what the show is doing. I really can't imagine what they will do once this storyline is over.

And somebody said way earlier that Alice Horton was going to die (maybe not as part of the current storyline, but I think she will). I mean, she might as well....the show will just plain be DIFFERENT, now and always.

It's not that I don't find the storyline entertaining, because I do....but it's hard to deal with so many changes at once. It's like a gimmick....nobody likes gimmicks. They are like the Nike (Reebok?) PUMP sneakers. They were cool for all of six months, but then wee look back and wonder why the hell we thought they were cool.

This storyline has dragged out ENTIRELY too long. We have been talking about this since August. It's time for Days to bring this puppy home.
