Justice!!!!
FIFA drops refs who made biggest mistakes
"Koman Coulibaly, the referee who gained notoriety for controversially denying the United States a potential game-winning goal against Slovenia in the group stage, was sent back to Mali without having refereed another match since his glaring mistake 11 days ago.
"The 10 referees deemed to be the worst in the tournament were excluded from the final list of elite officials who will be in contention to take charge of the all-important quarterfinal rounds onward.
"All 10 packed up their things from the secret refereeing base near Pretoria – where the officials have lived in isolation since the start of the World Cup – and were due to catch flights home either Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
"Yahoo! Sports exclusively revealed hours after the USA 2-2 draw with Slovenia that Coulibaly would not be allowed to referee another match, and so it transpired...."

And Justice for....some. While it's good that the FIFA grew a pair and ship off those idiots, the damage caused by their mistakes will remain a black eye for the organization.

Blatter says sorry to England, debate re-opens
with the recent controversial calls, FIFA has agreed to revisit the possibility of using goal-line technology, but remains steadfast on not using video review. even the idea of limited use, ie one or two challenges for instant replay, are given little regard.
FIFA President Sepp Blatter is a terrifically pompous ass. it's astounding how much i deplore the man, and he can still find room for growth. if being an A-hole was a renewable source of energy, his worth would be limitless. a perpetual jerk.
FIFA = F'n Insolent French A-hole.

You know, I get that they can't really change the rules about goal line tech or replays at this point in the Cup. But show a little bit more apology for the way things have gone!

Oh brother. These players from Ghana are starting their ridiculous flopping over miniscule "injuries" again.
Tomorrows game will be a good one. Argentina vs Germany. I'm rooting for Germany b/c I can't stand Argentina, Maradona & Messi.
I honestly believe that the winner of this game will ultimately go on to win the World Cup.

Well, Uruguay won in a shootout. Ghana had a lot of opportunities to score but couldn't get the job done.

I wonder how many people have lost a small fortune on this World Cup?
I'm going for the Netherlands at this point. Although, I'm not completely psyched for any of the survivors thus far.

Ich liebe "Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit"!
The words in the pre-WW II version were pretty militaristic (Germany Over All) and my high school German teacher-a German herself- told me that after the war, the Allies made them change the words so that now they're about unity and freedom and other neutral stuff.

I just bought an inexpensive "Road Trip German" - you're to learn it while driving.
Spain v. Holland for the World Cup? Who on earth would have guessed that match?! Lord help the person who disturbs me this Sunday!
Although, I do love the Viva Espana song. Don't know a Netherlands song, but Pitt's alma mater is set to Deutsland Uber Alles! I saw my first Holocaust movie just prior to hearing the alma mater - boy, was I shocked!
