Dissing other Greeks in step shows. Good 4 greek life or bad?

Last night to end the semester and the year all the D9 Greeks gathered in the parking lot to stroll and chat and get to know each other (too many new lines). There were ground rules explained when we gathered.

No dissing
No vulgar chants
No arguing
No pari' with negative or derogatory messages (my favorite).

It was funny how by the end of the evening only the older members were chanting. The neos from all the other organizations really didn't know any chants that didn't diss someone, or had some form of profanity in them. I, being only a few years into greekdom, sat back wondering, "What have we come to???"

This is a very interesting topic. At my homekoming step-show, we did a diss. The Alphas had just crossed a line, and some people on the campus questioned their sexuality. Just in pure fun, but we did a "Trapped in the CLoset" segment about the Alphas. To get to the point, on the part of the song where R.Kelly says, "I open the door, and I'll be got da#n it's man!" part, we had two bros dressed in Black and Gold come out of a makeshift closet and started booty dancing, and doing the Alpha train in a VEEEERY feminine way. When we pulled this stunt, the whole crowd was in shock. It was like one of those "No they didn't" silences. To this day, there is tension between us for that. So to the greek community, would that be considered as overboard?

Pretty surprising because the Alphas at my job did the same thing to the Nupes.

I don't think that's cute at all though.

I went to the Bowling Green State University Step Show this weekend. The Alphas were the only team to diss other fraternities. But they way they did it is they was it is suppose to be done. They had a girl on stage and the Que was like fake rappin her, keepin it G rated, the Sigma was tryin to steal her shoes, and the Nupe stole her purse, took the make up kit out, and started powderin his face. That was so funny to me and i am a Nupe. It is all in good humar. But some people cross the line and put personal stuff in they shows they hurts individuals reputations, feelings, and are just cheap shots. That is the difference between and acceptable show and a show that is just WRONG!!!

I am gonna just play devil's advocate..............look at the actions displayed at this probate. But Undergrads get MAD when graduate chapters step in.

Undergrads this is why graduate chapters intervene.

Greeks have turned into gangs! We are so GANGSTA to where we want to be educated and not loose our street credibility! lmaoo

Back in the day, rap music/being greek, was fun. Now we are GANGSTA!
