Steelers won - Seahawks lost. End of story.
Honestly, if I were a Seahawk fan, I'd be mad at:
1) Stevens for dropping three passes, and
2) Hasselback/Holmgren for blowing the two minute drill not once, but twice.
Say what you want about the penalties, but those two factors cost Seattle the game and a Super Bowl title, because Pittsburgh was not exactly tearing things up.

Right.
Here's the real reason.
Pittsburgh had more points -- a minimum of two scores more -- at the end of the game.
I'm not a huge student of the game, but as I understand it, under the rules, that makes them the winner.
Nothing else really matters at this point.

Baldy had more incomplete passes.
Do the math. 23 vs 12

Zing! Plus, neither quarterback's numbers were anything to write home about.

DJack's penalty was NOT a bad call - first of all, had the DB pushed off like that, it would be a GUARANTEED pass interference call . . . plus, he actually moved the DB off his spot. That defines pass interference. The worst part? He didn't NEED to push off, he had position and would have scored. The WRs for Seattle played like boneheads - how many times were they out of bounds on TDs? How many first downs did that soft TE of yours drop?
Say what you want about the rushing TD by Roethlisberger, but there wasn't conclusive evidence to overturn it no matter what you think. You simply couldn't see the ball as his knees hit.
Hasselbeck's penalty is the definition of nit-picking - take it easy, it's only 2 months until the Mariners begin their 110-loss season.

My late father always said, "Never get involved in a competition you can't afford to lose." It's a fancy way of saying that, should you lose and complain about it, you might up looking like a whiner, and whiners are the true losers.
This was NOT the prettiest of Super Bowls. To me, it looked like the Seahawks thought that their record made them better than the Steelers, and came out thinking that beating a Wild Card team would be easy. But the Steelers had a momentum that, even though they were a Wild Card team, couldn't be stopped.
The Steelers didn't play their best.
The Seahawks didn't play their best.
The Officiating wasn't the best.
The Officiating didn't cause two missed Field Goals.
Any further discussion is moot, at best.

HoneyChile, do you live in America? If not, I can see why your views are off. the past 2 weeks everyone was on the Steelers bandwagon, saying how the steelers were gonna win. The steelers were even favored to win, even though the Seahawks had the better record. The Seahawks were NOT the ones talking shit before the superbowl. It was the Steelers and their loudmouth punk Tigger from WinneythePooh looking, I got shot in the ass linebacker Joey Porter. The Steelers were the ones who thought they would come in and punk the Seahawks around. NOT the seahawks. The seahawks kept shut, came out firing and got hosed on a few calls. Hence they were only up 3-0 in the first quarter.
So please don't pull a Joey Porter and make up a scenario trying to make you P-burgers (notice how I called you guys burgers?) look like an underdog.

Exactly.
Seattle lost because Holmgreen is a freakin dumbass and didn't manage the game like he should have. He simply got outcoached by Cohwer.
Stevens played like a chump and Baldy didn't exactly throw some terrific passes either.
In the end, the Seahawks made mistakes. The Steelers didn't. the Seahawks have a stupid ass fat coach (too bad he's a Trojan), and the Steelers have a great coach.
Stupid Holmgreen.

It seemed like both sides were heavily playing the underdog role going into this; funny when A) People readily noted that the Seahawks were the best team in the NFC and B) Jerome Bettis has been THE media darling since the playoffs began.
Being the "underdog" may have become the most overused cliche in sports these days.

Bobby, I'm certainly aware that the Steelers were favored. I just think that the Seahawks didn't buy into it. If I were a Seahawk, I doubt that I would have believed that a Wild Card team could have beat the Seahawks, with their record.

I doubt the Seahawks would have discounted a team with a 1200 yard runner, a QB on a hot streak, and one of the best defenses (Porter, Hampton, Polamalu, etc.) in the NFL.

I purposely started the offending pair of sentences with "To me...". I'm not perfect, but neither is anyone here.

And we PURPOSELY quoted you to show you that you are wrong in believing that Seattle would underestimate the Steelers.

If you really want to play the "the steelers were a wildcard" team stuff then go ahead.
Sure the Steelers were a wildcard team, but EVERYONE knew they were the better team than Seattle. Seattle had a better record because they played in the NFC Worst, beat up on other weak NFC teams while Pittsburgh had arguably one of the toughest schedules in the NFL.
No one ever really looked at Pittsburgh as a 6th seed, while no one realy thought of Seattle as a #1 seed.
