Not necessarily. When he looked into the mirror last time, his heart's desire was not to defeat Voldemort, but to find the stone before him. And he got the stone. So if he finds that mirror at a time when his heart's desire is to find the last horcrux (as a means to destroy him), it may not fall into his pocket, but he might see what it is. That'll probably be what he wants most by the end of the seventh book as it's the last obstacle before the final battle.
Does anyone think Harry really has it in him to kill Voldemort? I think if he does it'll be in a mortal way, he doesn't have the will power to make the Killing Curse work. He's too good-hearted for that.

You don't have to use the killing curse to kill someone. There are other spells and potions that could lead to death, although maybe not as instantaneously (sp?) as Avada Kedavara. I think it would be interesting if in some way Harry's good-hearteness is what causes Voldemort to die.

Keep in mind how Quirrel died. And the fact that Dumbledore keeps stressing the "love" thing his mother left him.

Yeah, no one trying to hurt him can touch his skin. But curses work just fine on him, we've seen that. I wonder how his mother's love will protect him against Voldy?

Hmmm. Valid point -- I'm going to have to ponder it some.

While it is valid, I want to mention that Harry's heart's desire definitely changes throughout the book. I mean the first time he saw that mirror, there was nothing about Voldemort OR the stone. I think when he was a first year, he didn't quite understand why Voldie needed to be killed. He just realized that he needed to keep the stone away from Quirrel. NOW that he has heard all about Voldie's history and has gone through all the trouble he has in the last few years, his main goal and desire would now be to defeat Voldemort. Whether or not it gets into specifics how (ie finding the last horcrux) is up in the air, still making your point valid.

Dang, we are really into this book! Can you imagine if we put this much energy into world peace or something?
So it's a toss-up, if Harry were to find the mirror, it would all depend on if he's thinking short term victory (the horcrux) or long term (beating Voldy). Or he might look in the mirror and see himself greeting Dumbledore back from the dead or something touching (but useless) like that.
What other objects from Harry's past can come into play? Do you think the Room of Requirement will still be important?

Would Hogwarts staff try to find a way to shut the room of requirement for good seeing as that's how Draco got the Death Eaters into Hogwarts in the first place?

As to your second question, yes I think the Room of Requirement will still be important.
As for the first question, JKR said before Book 6 came out something to the effect that the mirror that Sirius gave Harry (so that they could communicate) is "relevant to books six and seven." "The mirror might not have helped as much as you think [to save Sirius], but on the other hand, will help more than you think. You'll have to read the final books to understand that!" (From JKR's website.)
I wonder if it will somehow be connected to Regulus.

Well, I actually had to read The Sorcerer's Stone for a class I took in college... Engl 361 Adolescent Lit. Does that count?
BTW that class actually is to blame for starting my Harry Potter obsession.
Anyway, there SHOULD be a class on HP. It's got alot of great characters and plots that could be discussed.

Yes, but after GoF (when Voldemort took Harry's Blood) that changed. He could touch Harry and not be hurt.
