Just a reminder that any chapter who received GL last convention is also eligible along with those who received Stanard (provided they are eligible for awards)....

Is Alpha Iota eligible for Stanard yet?

Beta Tau is my initiation chapter...they are up for GL for the second time ever...although the last time we received it was the year before I joined. So my chapter of initiation and the chapter I advise are both up for GL!! Soooo excited!

Random thought of the night:
For those of us who didn't specify roommates, how COOL would it be to wind up rooming with one another?

OMG I leave for convention in 9 days!!!!!!
I went out yesterday and bought my dresses for opening banquet and closing banquet. Kind of sucked. I mean don't get me wrong I love trying on formal dresses but I don't like spending the money. Both went on credit cards. LOL.
God it's going to be here before we know it.
Okay. I will email everyone today or tomorrow with the information I have collected, which I don't have everyone but what can we do.
Here's my thoughts. I say we try to meet at opening banquet and then again at closing banquet.
Jen-wasn't there a board where we could put messages to our sisters, if so we could put a message up.
Did we also decide to wear violet (purple) ribbons as well?

I remember the board was to the left of the registration table last time - otherwise, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm planning on bring my laptop and paying to use internet while we're there, so if anyone else will be on GC/email, we can communicate that way.
I'm pretty sure there was no objections to a violet colored ribbon, so I'm going to make sure I have mine ready to go in the next day or so

No laptop for me unless I borrow my moms but I highly doubt she would let me because she is going on a cruise with her friend and leaves the day before I get back.

I have to sit with my province on closing night... and not sure about opening night but I definitely want to get in on the group pic whenever that happens...
Not sure if I'll have a violet ribbon or not- I'm swamped at work with alot to get done before we leave... so one way or the other you can see me during IO introductions- I'm the PD for Theta province... and some of you know me anyway from when I was on Council...
Safe travels to all!

Call EO or email them at info@alphadeltapi.com and explain that you have not received your confirmation although your roommate has.

Call EO today and find out what is going on.
Question: being this is my first convention not in Phoenix (I didn't stay at the hotel here) are we supposed to get anything telling us who our roomate is ahead of time, or do you just find out when you get there? Just curious. I didn't request anyone, I'm just wondering who I'm being roomed with. I'm just so excited

I didn't pre-request anyone in Phoenix, nor did I receive advance notification. I checked in first, and she got there a few hours later. Turned out great though - she and I had met a few years earlier at VLS in Memphis. We were the same age and advised chapters of similar size. I think they try to put people together like that whenever possible. This convention is pretty full though, so who knows what will happen!

VLS was the first time I'd stayed at the hotel for the entire time, so I also ran into the "don't know my roommate" dilemma. I met my roommate the morning after I got in (flying cross country, I took some Tylenol PM to help with a headache and also to go to bed early and adjust to East Coast time more quickly ) and she was great!
I look at it this way - it's a great chance to meet someone new that I otherwise (in all the festivities) might not have met during the gathering

OMG!! I am sooo excited that I was able to access GC from work today - via link on Yahoo Groups - how random! I can't PM Bri with my cell - I will send you an email, though.
What time is everyone arriving? I'm flexible - I'm driving up! I'm planning to be there about 4pm.
I vote for meeting earlier on - like WED night!!
How about posting a list of our real-life names with our GC names on Pride Online?
I am kinda nervous about Convention... This is the first time I'm going without being an Advisor and I'm not really in communication with the advisors/collegians of that chapter anymore. I'm kinda getting the "I won't know anyone! Who will I sit with at lunch/dinner?!" feelings....
