From the 1971 Morgan State University Yearbook, as quoted by Black Greek 101:
Alpha Chapter, the first of Iota Phi Theta, was founded September 19, 1963 by 12 men who felt they were too old and mature to go through a ridiculous pledge season. It was originally called "I Felta Thigh" fraternity. "I Felta Thigh" entered [the local] Pan Hell in 1965. The name was then changed to Iota Phi Theta.

If SGR's, Sigma Chi's or ATO's rit fell into my lap, I'd do what I coudl to contact somebody from one of those orgs and return the info. Cause their rit's and whats in 'em are none of my concern. I would assume that someone who seemed to be saying as much would actually beleieve the same thing. Just 'cause its out there dont mean she had to read it. Its a respect thing, so to speak.
Also, I NEVER SAID I wanted to know jack about her org. I dont care. Hell, I never even met a SGR. (but I appreciate you jumping to her defense tho). I'm saying that if other peoples business really is other peoples business (as she was preaching) then she shoullda acted it and not read that other groups biznass.

Wow!! Go away for a work-weekend and people still can't get it.
To Starang21 and DSTCHAOS, thanks for trying to explain my point. Much Greek love to ya both
Now, as far as the Chi O site, when I first read it I really thought it was a joke. I did not think that someone would do that. I worked with a woman who is a Chi O and I asked her about the website. She did not go into any detail about the young lady who posted it, but did confirm that the information posted was true. And, just because someone is going to show me theirs does not mean I have to show them mine . I used to drive the boys crazy with that one.
Keep in mind this was a WEBSITE, i.e., public domain, meaning anyone could read it, and I am sure many had. This was not a ritual book so therefore there was no need to contact the group's HQ. I am sure Chi O HQ was aware of the site.
Also, I think many of you (NPC/IFC) may not be aware that for some reason some people tend to develop unhealthy obsessions about a NPHC org, so they try to get *any* information they can, then come on these boards and perp like they are a member of the org. The less information that is divulged to non-members just strengthens the respect you have for your org.

Yeah, but you're really not supposed to talk about information about your GLO that is known to initiated members only on websites anyway.

Oh so you wanted to read Chi O secrets because you thought it was a joke. And then it was so funny you had to confirm the secrets with the girl at work.
And perhaps some of those perps of NPHC orgs think its a joke to find out your secrets and think it's funny...nothing wrong with that since there was nothing wrong with you doing the same thing, huh?

get a clue or at least some logical reasoning.
the two incidents aren't the same thing. i'd appreciate it if you would develop some sort of reading comprehension.

Exactly!
Anyone ever heard the phrase "Family business should stay in the family"? I was raised to not share ANYTHING that was going on in my house, and I follow the same rule when it comes to my sorority.
But feel free to ask me about any of our national programs, such as Project Reassurance, Program for Africa, Operation BigBookBag, Project WeeSavers, Sigma Youth Symposium, Mwanamugimu Essay Contest, and Buckle Up America.

Just a question to NPHCers. Do you think NPCs and NICs are a little too "open"?
