I just found out that one of the most prominent researchers in my department (and head of our department) is a Gamma Phi Beta. I talked to her about it and we ended up in a 30 minute discussion about sororities and how we have tried to "rush" our student interns (including her own daughter) and they have NO interest in joining a sorority. Anyway.. She is a dynamic, extremely intelligent woman who is doing internationally reknowned research on allergies and asthma and GPBs should be proud to call her their sister!
I was excited that she was from the Syracuse Triad!

I don't think I posted this before...
I had to go on someone's computer here a few weeks ago and I saw a "SigEp" folder in his email. I asked him about it and he is an alum from Syracuse! Still quite involved, too.
There's a guy here who went to LSU so I keep meaning to ask him. Most of the women went to small artsy colleges which didn't have greek systems. Although I had a suspision about one woman being a Theta Phi Alpha b/c she has penguin stuff all over!!! But there is no TPA chapter at the school she went to!!!

I work for a division of American Express... they decided to create a new department and gathered people from various offices throughout the country to start it (I am one of them). There are 10 of us:
1 Delta Sigma Phi
1 Alpha Phi Alpha
1 Sigma Phi Epsilon
1 Delta Kappa Epsilon
AND...
6 Delta Zetas!!!!!!
I can't believe that every woman in our department is my sister and we are all from different chapters!! We all joke that we should start department meetings by reciting the DZ Creed!!

When I was a staff member on the Gore 2000 campaign, the Asst. Volunteer Coordinator was an AOPi from Ohio State I believe. One of my interns was an AOPi from Vanderbilt. And, another intern there was a Sigma Chi.
I KNOW the other interns were almost all Greek, but those are the ones tht come to mind.
Most of the other staff members seemed to be the type who would be "above" joining a GLO. That sounds bad. But, you could tell they thought less of me for being a staff member/sorority girl. Just goes to show that stereotypes are still alive and well.

*One ADPi
*One Sigma Alpha Zeta (Multicultural sorority)
*One "The Journey" member (What was Phi Kappa Theta before they were expelled last Fall, so they call themselves that now)
