I checked out ebay, just out of curiosity, and would you believe that people are actually trying to sell this book for up to $150 for just the regular edition???? If anyone actually pays this much for it, then they're idiots.

I GOT IT!!!!!
Just came home from running some errands, and guess what was waiting for me!
I didn't upgrade to standard shipping from Amazon, so I wasn't expecting to see it until Monday or Tuesday. Normally, packages get left next to the garage, so when I pulled up and didn't see a package, I was thinking "oh well..." Then I went out to the mailbox, and lo and behold, there it was!!!!!
If you'll excuse me, I have to pry it from Mr. aephi alum's sticky little paws now

I got mine last night at 12:40 I went to Barnes and Noble, but the scene there was insane. I like Harry Potter, and I adore children, but I couldn't take being around all those adult weirdos in capes and pointy hats. I would have easily been waiting till 4:00 to get a book, since I didn't pre-order. So I dashed off to SuperWal-Mart, and arrived there at 11:55. Got in line and waited till 12:40 (which seems like a while but it passed quickly with a friend), and then got my book! There was a cop with a gun handing the books to the cashier one by one
I haven't started reading it yet but I think I'll do that right now! I have exams on Monday and Tuesday, so I don't want to get too wrapped up in the story and completely ignore my Biology book. Plus I'm going on vacation Tuesday night, so I'll have plenty of time to devour it all

Bwahahaha. I just got mine. Being a speed reader, I'm on p.188--the only reason that my family is allowing me to have it first is the speed reading and that I PAID for the sucker.
Back to reading and throwing things at kids who walk in the door!

As a side note: The scene at my superwalmart:
I went to SWM since I figured it would be the least crowded of all the places around, as it was...when I arrived at 11:30, there were about 30-40 people in line...I went to electronics, then back to be about 50th in line around 11:45...at 11:59 the people in the front did some weird W-A-L-M-A-R-T WALMART chant (at which point I considered walking out ) and at 12:01 they had about 5 staffmembers just handing books to everyone in line...the line dispersed since everyone had a book, and went to the checkout lines, half of which were reserved for HP purchases...I was out of the store by 12:15 (then I went to McDonalds...gotta love 24-hr locations!!)

Oh wow. Reading the crazy Super Wal-Mart stories, I'm GLAD the one near me is just a regular Wal-Mart and ISN'T open 24 hours! It was such a breeze to walk in early this morning, grab a book, and be out! (Well except for the fact that I'm an idiot and didn't see the books for a while )

Just picked mine up from the pre-order at B&N. I drove by there last night at 11 after work and their parking lot was COMPLETELY booked, they were parking at other stores, and the cashier told me they had to wait in line to get a number to pick their book up and he said the line went clear around to another store so I was glad I wasn't there.
I'm such a nerd, I bought a HP bookmark for it too, hehe

I'm still waiting
My mom checked the mail today, and I asked if it had come yet, and she said no. She just shakes her head as I get all excited about the new book coming out ....she's not a big reader, so I'm not too surprised that this is her reaction.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Monday.....then I get to sit there and look at it for the next week!
