I went to a concert the other day (that my best friend DRAGGED me to) and Chris Brown was performing. After he performs, we go to the bathroom. While I'm waiting for her to come out, there were about 4 girls (couldn't have been older than 13), talking about "I love me some Chris Brown...I would give it to him in a hearbeat...I'd let him hit it"

I shot them a look that made them hush up so fast...

I stopped watching videos. I miss the old school stuff with dances and something worth watching. If I see another booty-shaking, grill gleamin, how many expensive cars sittin on 22's with half naked chicks dancing on them video....

I noticed that alot when I went to Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH. Loads of people were from Cleveland and they were sporting Scream Fest tour shirts (think it was Omarion, Pretty Ricky) and it was pretty much the same thing.

What gets me though is that it's sometimes GROWN WOMEN saying those exact same things about young singers like Chris Brown or Bow Wow..I'm like you do know they're old enough to be your kids right?

I work with kids obviously and bluntly put some of their relatives are just straight bootleg...the kids actually hang their head in shame when one of their folks comes and pick them up...How are you gonna come pick your kid up (this is an older brother), with blue joggers almost by your knees and pink crocs showing off your crusty feet...needless to say my co-workers and I had a ball raggin on him LOL

We have nights where we get to meet the families..a potluck, why, at our last 'night', did one mother take OUR ENTIRE TRAY of chicken saying "this is for my cousin who couldn't be here, my daughter, my sister my husband" (when her husband was actually there waiting still on his first plate (LMAO); the other families were definitely perturbed at that mother.

We gave tours this past weekend and we were showing my school..it was also an open house (MIND YOU WE ARE THE ONLY MINORITIES IN A GOOD 1/2 MILE RADIUS), well we get propaganda for them about the school and their desired major,we take alot of info...and one of the kids goes by one of the dell computers and acts like she's yanking it out and tells her sister "unplug it from the back" I shoot her a look like "You are setting us back to the colonization era", and she says "Well you know us Mexicans love free S***" IN FRONT OF ALL THE TOUR GROUPS ALL OF WHOM WERE DOMINANTLY WHITE.....i seriously felt like running into the street in front of the speeding bus!

Again with our kids...Halloween is the 'holiday' I dread for various reasons (for the kids) and one of our kids confirmed my fears and left me red when someone on the street [an older Black woman] (as we trick or treated with them), asked me on the side "why do alot of minority folks let their kids dress up like hoochies? Don't they know it looks bad on us?" This little girl, 4th grader, came dressed as a 'sexy pirate' (YOU'RE IN 4th GRADE...SEXY SHOULD NOT...REPEAT NOT BE IN YOUR VOCABULARY). Showed up to our program with her skirt waaaay above knee level...if she sat wrong things would show, a low cut shirt and makeup smeared all over her face (real dark little girl with bright blue eyeshadow and LOUD red lipstick) with some humongous (sp?) open toed high heels...saying "My momma thought this was so cute..my older sister is a sexy flight attendant" needless to say I made wear that long old jacket over that horrid costume...yes I did 'ruin' (her words) her Halloween experience...but someone's gotta act like the parent...mind you she's the daughter of the same mother who took our entire chicken tray*SMH*

This reminds me of a trip we took senior yr of high school to the Cook County Courthouse....it embarassed me as the other school there were straight from the burbs and they took the behavior in the room as representative of the neighborhood...which isn't far from where I grew up (and I was the only person from that area )

I got a question for all of you...do you think it's only embarrassing when it's done around people who are not your race? Around one's own? Or anyone?

I get perturbed the most with people acting a fool INTENTIONALLY around other people, I think this only (in the eyes of the beholder), solidifies all the stereotypes about the group, I've actually apologized for someone of my folks' behavior even if I didn't know that person

I am too embarrased when "we" come into a place of business overtly and blatently ask for a hook-up. I work at an auto repair shop where I keep the books. This man came in here and asked me what I could do to help him on his $600+ bill. I told him I could make him a copy of it and that's about it. Then he had the nerve to ask me not to fax a copy of the invoice to his company(it was for an 18-wheeler) until Thursday so they won't take it out of his check this week. Like I'm gonna screw up my job so he can have a little extra in his check... I thinks NOT!!!!!

We be clubbin? LOLOLOL.
That's hilarious.

Some of these incidents are so funny, like the Churches / Church's chicken interview.

I guess I don't take responsibility for the acts of the other AAs in my vicinity so I don't really get embarrassed. I just look at them like their crazy like everybody else. I have a Secretary that sits across from the door of my office who has been talking on the telephone from the time that she gets to work until the time that she leaves since I started my job about 8 months ago. She is now even running a travel agency from her phone - mind you, I don't work at a travel agency!!! If she isn't fighting with her boyfriend, she's counseling some folk from her church or taking calls and setting up travel plans for folk. LOL. All the while I'm trying to do my job. AND SHE'S LOUD. I finally just found a good pair of earplugs after I told her I could hear her conversations several times and she kept right on talking. In fact, she has the nerve to get offended when I tell her that she is distracting.

And when the atty that she works for is out of hte office, she REALLY lets it all hang out. Whew, A Hot Mess - and yes, she's AA.

Putting my earplugs back in...

There were people walking across the stage dancing, lifting up their hands, posing, and a few even did flips.

OMG, I isht you all not!

There's a couple I see sometimes. I've seen them walking and and sitting on the curb. Welllllll, last week I saw them in MOTORIZED WHEELCHAIRS riding along a busy street. The woman was even on her cellphone and used those old school hand signals when she made a turn.

1. They aren't disabled
2. Hmmmm, I wonder how did they get the wheel chairs.
3. What made them think it was cute to use wheelchairs as if they were cars or motorcycles?

From working at a daycare: When "our" 3 year old says "Shut up b*itch" and "we" laugh because "we" think it's cute.

Scenario:

Me: "Ms. Porter, we need to talk about your son's language. "
Mother: "Really?"
Me: "Yes, today when I told Marquise to clean up and get ready for snack time, he responded with "Shut up b*tch."
Mother: "Haha! For real? Tell em baby, you do what you want! Isn't he cute?"

now see..

when he says that to her, it won't be funny. *smh*

I'd have told her no, and if he says it again, I will ask that he be removed from my class. With the quickness..

See, her behind would've been looking for a new daycare to put her child in.

yes, yes, yes,

i was at my sister's wedding. it was such an elegant affair. the dj played the cha cha song. there is a part in the song that says "to the floor." my sister "ms. ghetto" got her long flowing dress and twirked it all the way down to the floor. my mother looked as if she had swallowed a house . i had to go on the dance floor and tactfully get her off.

when my superintendent says "IRREGARDLESS" during our staff developments

i was at lunch with this women's group. i was told that one of the young ladies was known for getting all of her meals free. she finds something wrong with it.....complains to the manager......gets really loud. well, she was sitting in front of me. i could not believe how she behaved. this is a christian group mind you. i stopped her right in the middle of scene. i told her that she will not behave that way in my presence apologized to the manager and told him under no circumstances would she be getting a free meal. i complimented the chef and we all left. i was so embarrassed. i called the young lady to discuss her behavior. sorors, i was so shame.

Yes, I saw that video clip with the little boy. It was a mess and he got a kick out of being bad and obnoxious. My mouth fell open when he made the hoodrat comment.
