here's a "revelation" for you - i don't belive 200pt font is necessary to make a point. it only makes you look silly, especially when you tell someone to find a thread that is "appropriate" to post their stories and if they looked for one to do exactly that......they would find THIS ONE based on the title. thanks for the helpful post though.

See.....your snarky tude if not cool. If you read the Thread about raining on other peoples parade then you will see whay I posted that. That thread was not started by me and it includes detracting from another persons story especially a positive one. I put it in larger font b/c people tend not to read whole post and that was the most important part.
So....I don't look silly as you say....maybe its you.
You can call me names if you like. I am not the one complaining about other peoples stuff.
I don't need your 'revelation'. Thanks any way !

Your post were already here; so my comment was for people who want to tell thier story in the future.

However, in paragraph 2 of the original post in this thread, she invites others to join in, so other posters didn't feel they were hijacking the thread. I assumed it was the kind that had several "sagas" on it which is why I jumped in.

It's reasonable for people to have done it, but if you look back over the thread, it seems less than ideal in hindsight. There was no way anyone jumping in could have anticipated how the negative would take over the positive, but maybe we should take a lesson from it and not do it again?

i wasn't aware that i called you any "name," but if you felt i did so, please forgive me. i'm also not sure where i "complained about other peoples stuff" or what that even means, so maybe you could help me out there.
i think everyone is getting WAY too sensitive about this subject or maybe i just have a thick skin. as i said earlier, i posted in this thread based on auburnmom's invite and the title of the thread. if everyone thinks that rush should be made into this week of glory where everyone's dreams come true and all happy endings, then that's your perogative, but i think it should be shown in its true light. the good and the bad. if not, anyone who visits this board to attempt and get an idea of what rush is all about will certainly get a warped view. i apologize if i offended anyone, especially auburnmom. i wish kate the best and hope everything works out great for her. this will be my last post on this board, b/c it is obviously not the place for me. i wish the best to everyone's friends and family going through rush and only hope that you will give them an honest view of what rush is/can be and not just all smiles and roses.

NO, NO No!!! I want to hear what happens with your sister! And you are absolutely right about rush (see how old I am?) being a lot about who you know.....
I am just glad that both of my daughters are "rushed and done with." This time last year I had one getting ready to go through at Ole Miss and I was a nervous wreck! I went to Auburn, my eldest went to Alabama, and frankly of the three of them I think that Auburn's rush is far more brutal than the other two!

I think what most people are saying (and this isn't really directed to any particular person) is that it might be a little awkward for AuburnMom to come here to post about her daughter's good news and have to preface her posts like "Gosh I'm sorry things are going bad for you all, but yay Katie got THREE PREF INVITES!"

I understand....maybe Elainebenice will start another thread.....
It seems to me that more than a few of the rush stories published here have an element of heartbreak, so it is fun to hear about someone having a great rush!

Elaine-
Please continue to post your sister's rush experience. There are a bunch of this on this thread that have been with you since the beginning and would love to see where your sister ends up.
Auburnmom-
Can't wait for a Kate update! I'm glad that she's been invited back to Austria for prefs, I think you mentioned that she felt close to them in an early post.
Best of luck to all the ladies going through the final moments of recruitment at Auburn!

Elaine,
It sounds to an outsider like your sister is having an amazing rush. It might not have been the rush that you wanted for her, but if she ends up happy, and with three pref parties to go to it sounds like she might, it is all smiles and roses (or squirrels and roses, if you are really lucky ).
I just want to be clear that I don't want to limit what people discuss. I think the horror stories are as important as the happy ones. I just want to let the folks happy with their results enjoy their threads without a lot of second guessing about the evils of the process in the middle.

i have been out of town and without internet service so i am furiously trying to catch up on what all the active pnms are doing.
first off, i am so sorry for the young woman who was dropped from recruitment. she doessound like a fine young woman who has a lot to offer some organization-i hope that she will brush herself off and find an organization where she will make lots of friends and not look back on what might have been. should she choose to enroll in cob opportunities, i hope that that works out for her. to her mom: i truly think that it is harder being a mom than a pnm. hang in there. your daughter will have her chance to shine at auburn.
to elaine, i hope that your sister has a wonderful time at her prefs. i am so sorry that her bff dropped out, but i am glad that your sis did not. how great that she received an invitation from one of her original favorites. when i suggested that you create a thread just for your sister and her friends, i did not mean to come across as bossy. i look at recruitment like christmas-i would rather have a lot of little presents to open(rush threads) than one great big one(combined rush threads)-so i was just trying to get my addiction fed!
auburnmom, i hope that your daughter has a wonderful time at her prefs. i can't wait for you to break the code, after all is said and done. thank you for starting this thread. also can't wait for an update!

Auburnmom?
I know she has received her preference invites, but I can't remember when the parties are and when bids are handed out- I know that I am being lazy and not going through the thread; I'm instead sure someone can give a quick reminder--
