I have a request: I went to the movies yesterday, and had buttered popcorn. Within 2 hours, it had me SO SICK, I have spent most of my time in the bathroom. I can't hold anything down, and I'm expelling blood. I don't have a doctor right now, but my mom's wants me to go to the hospital, but it's storming really badly. I really don't want to go to the hospital, I just want to sleep...
GO to the hospital! Don't take any chances with your health.....we can't lose our Honeychile!

I'm praying that you are feeling better soon, but I'm concerned with the expelling blood part of your post....that's not normal, sweetie. Please, please, PLEASE take care of yourself and get this checked out!

Good morning!! Well, I didn't go to the hospital (I couldn't drive, and my mama still can't, and I didn't want to call 911), but I promised to go this morning if I was still feeling poorly. My mama got me on a prayer chain, and by 3am, the fever & all had broken! The only remnant is a nasty headache, which I'm sure will go away once I have something to eat.

Thank you for y'all's prayers!!!

Hey guys, I meant to post this on sunday but I had nasal surgery on Monday. Everything went well during surgery but I'm pretty bandaged up and I won't be able to see the results until Friday. Fortunately the pain isnt too bad but god bless vicodin . Anyways, if you guys could just all keep your fingers crossed that things turned out well, I'd really appreciate it.

For those of y'all who know MTSUGirl, she is a camp counselor this summer, and is just doing an amazing job!! For those of y'all who pray, please keep her in prayer, as she comes alongside middle- and high-school kids who are seeking their way to the Lord. If you'd like more details, PM me! Thanks!

Can you all pray for a very close friend of my family? (Her son and I were the same age and went to school together....unfortunately, he was killed by a van about 10 years ago) I just found out today (my mom talked to her either this morning or last evening) and found out she has stage 4 cancer of the pancreas. This is a hard blow for us, and I know she's been feeling really sick lately and the doctors haven't determined their course of action as of right now.

Please pray for my grandmother. She has thyroid cancer. She has been suffering since Easter (lost her voice because the mass took over her thyroid and vocal chords), but the doctor said the cancer has been growing for quite some time now (prior to Easter). She went in for surgery yesterday at the Cleveland Clinic to have the mass removed and in pre-op her EKG showed something. They do not know when her surgery will be now so please pray for her.

Update on tests....

Well, I want to say THANKS for all the prayers with my two tests....I really think they helped. I wound up getting a 1270 on the quantitative and verbal portions of the GRE, and a 5.0 out of 6.0 on the Analytical writing section. Then, my *unoffical* scores for the CBEST wound up being a 47 on writing, 48 in reading, and 72 in math (can you tell which is my strongest subject????)

Thanks again, sisters!

Ladies, please keep David and I in your prayers during our pregnancy. We had our first DR apt today, and while everything seems fine, we are still a high risk. I had severe pulmonary embolizms back in September due to birth control (always make sure your gyno does blood testing after you take bc. always!). Because of that, I have to have a blood thinning shot every 12 hours for the rest of my pregnancy. Not only am I not looking forward to it, tonight, I got very light headed and weezy administering it. Please pray that this is just a formality and that it will get easier day by day. Thanks sisters.

Sisters,

I don't know how much this has been publicized nationally, but my area got hit with some pretty nasty rain Monday night.
(article here)

I thought we had it pretty bad... A transformer blew, and a wire snapped in my backyard, so I came home to find my backyard on fire. We lost power from 4:30 p.m. until about 1:30 a.m. We've had problems with that transformer for years, and there's a petition going to the governor about it now after this. Because of this, my side of the street, and several nearby courts were affected by the power outage. We were bailing out the basement to keep it from flooding, as were many others on the street. Luckily we beat the water level and kept from flooding.

I found out today that the court at the end of my street wasn't so lucky.

A friend of my mom had 28 inches of water in her basement. Everything from down there is gone. And she's the luckiest one on the court. Everyone from that court was evacuated by boat and taken to the high school. The amount of furniture and boxes and everything that you see walking down that street is un believable... all ruined.

The house that got hit the worst belongs to the family of my friend Nick. I've known Nick since we moved here 15 years ago. He is hands down the nicest guy I've ever met, and his parents and sister are all wonderful, really nice people too. One of their back walls (in the basement maybe? I'm not totally sure) has either collapsed or is about to collapse. They almost condemned the house on the spot, but for some reason, someone wouldn't let them. There have been all sorts of structural engineers in there, but from the sound of it, they're going to lose their house.

I can't imagine what they're going through... Why did it have to happen to, like, the nicest people in the entire neighbourhood? We've told them that, if we can help them in any way, they should call us, but still, I feel so helpless. All I want to do right now is wave some magic wand and make their house Ok again, or hire the best structural engineers in the country to fix their house for them by tomorrow. I can't do either of those things, and I hate it. They don't deserve to be going through this.

I'm sorry this is so long, but if you've made it this far, thank you. I'm just so shocked by this that I don't even know if this all made sense.

Please, just keep them in your prayers...

FD,
I read in the newspaper about the severe weather back in your area (F&F, are you being hit hard, too?) and thoughts went immediately to you to keep you safe, and now I'll be praying for your entire area and Nick and his family.

Of course, I will pray for Nick, his family, and the entire community. I pray that insurance will take care of the damage done, and that somehow, some good comes out of this tragedy - even if through the sense of community that strengthens. God bless you, FD!!

We really don't realize how well off we are sometimes, do we? Thank you for sharing this, so we can agree in prayer, and we can appreciate the roof over our heads this very day!
