TCU opened registration today, with a list of 5 questions (each must be less than 200 word answers) for each PNM to answer. No dates for actual recruitment have been set yet (as far as I can tell...?) https://tcupanhellenic.com/registration

Well, an upside to all these virtual initial rounds, is it will certainly lessen the "tent talk"!

MIT has opened recruitment registration for this fall.
I received an email today from MIT's President, indicating that only some undergraduates will be allowed back on campus. Research staff and faculty get first priority, followed by grad students (as most require lab access, and on-campus grad student housing is apartment-style), followed by some undergrads whose studies require that they be on campus. All undergrads will be housed in single-occupancy rooms even though that means turning doubles and triples into singles. (There are a few quads and quints on campus, and I'd call dibs on one if it were my senior year and I were guaranteed to have it to myself for both fall and spring semester. )
My WAG is that most freshmen will be told to stay home, since most freshmen are taking core courses with 500+ person lectures that can be streamed, and recitation sections that can be done via Zoom or other platforms.
MIT Panhel has been non-specific as to how they will conduct recruitment. If I were they, I'd defer formal recruitment to the spring, but who knows if there will be a COVID spike this winter?

Move in is over four days now at Auburn - Tuesday through Friday. First two rounds are virtual. Sisterhood round is over three days now with a small number of PNM and sisters at each party. And masks are required for all in person parties.

Okay, I have a warped sense of humor, but I'm envisioning the women either frantically seeking designer masks, hinting at colors if they've a preconceived chapter desire, or steadfastly avoiding any group's colors.
Or masks being the "statement piece" of rush.
Or Panhellenic masks being issued in place of t-shirts. Wouldn't *that* make it fun to differentiate PNMs?

I thought about the masks being a fashion statement as well. Also...I’ll be interested to see how creative the ladies are with their eye makeup.

Masks are this year's cute little summer rompers.

OMG I just had this mental image of masks printed for each PNM with her PNM# on it.

Well, this will be interesting. Univ. of Arizona has changed recruitment from being partial virtual/partial in-person to being ALL virtual. Bid Day will be held virtually or in small groups. I suspect this is due to the huge spike of coronavirus cases in Arizona in recent weeks. The two other states with big spikes are Texas and Florida, so I wonder if they will change to all-virtual at schools there.

Texas A&M has changed their date of primary recruitment BACKWARDS. They were originally due to start on August 15. They are now starting on August 7. It will be a hybrid of virtual and in-person events.
The press release can be seen here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CxK...WAd6_v6lK/view

Most schools I'm hearing about are doing pref (and usually ONLY pref) in person. That's bad enough - can't imagine how pref is going to get done if not in person!
What. A. Mess.
