I don't have one.
Does that mean that everyone finds the PWI term offensive?
Of course not.

You said they're used every day by all of these institutions and groups, and you don't have any examples?

Really?
Have you also never heard of HBCU outside of GC?

I always have examples.
But the only example I care to give you all is a conference on higher education that I attended a few months ago in which different institutions were categorized by PWI and HBCU.
Once again, the PWI administrators at the conference didn't take issue with it. Buuuuut, if SOME people are offended, that is duly noted---as I previously stated. What else?

= I can't find any example in writing, which I could if these institutions were really using the term themselves on a daily basis, as I claimed earlier.

That's funny. I did a quick search and found many references to "Predominantly White Institutions" (PWI).

References made by who, exactly? Were these official university press releases, or statements by spokespeople for the universities?

Examples will still result in a pissing contest. Because this topic is just that darn important and PWI and (H)WGLO are just that darn offensive to some of you.

Name one NPC org that would qualify as a "WGLO" because if 26 women from 26 sororities said "that term does not apply to my GLO" you'd say "well then it doesn't apply to yours" as you did above. But you'd still insist on calling NPC orgs WGLOs.
It turns it into an "us vs. them" mentallity when one isn't needed.

It's just as important as any online topic.
You made an assertation.
You were asked to back that assertation up with evidence.
You've chosen not to provide evidence other than one anecdotal statement.
Your assertation is therefore groundless.
It's funny that you should be stuck on making a point that we shouldn't be offended about something you find inoffensive. You are not the one who gets to determine what is offensive or not to me and I don't get to determine what is offensive to you. It is common courtesy to refrain from using offensive terms, especially after being told that they are offensive.
There are so many parallels to this in racial and religious terms that this can't be a difficult concept.
/Papist
Edited to clarify that I'm calling myself a Papist to make a point. One I feel needs to be spellled out, sadly.

This is for me more than anything. I'm just trying to get an idea overall of where PSK fits in comparison to other greeks in relatively similar orgs.

Your headquarter's probably has all of that information. I know ours does extensive research anytime they are considering raising our fees.

Yes.
Here's one of plenty examples so that you all can get your rocks off. You can look up other PWIs and find a similar thing going on in their official and unofficial documents and publications.
http://www.ou.edu/rise/Publication/R...cationPage.htm
Look under "Portraying Success Among URM Engineering Majors," and find a reference to "predominantly white univerisities," which is the same thing as a predominantly white institution (PWI--refers to colleges and universities)

That's an grant request hosted on ou.edu's website, written by a professor (and several graduate students) who is attempting to recieve money and will be running a study. Not an official university document.
I'm not denying the term isn't used by people, but not by universities as descriptors for themselves.

Most probably have other orgs info on file, so they can say "We have the most affordable dues/one of the most affordable dues/etc."
