My humble opinion of tonite's show so far (and there are still more than 30 minutes to go) is that the lineup is going from strongest to weakest. But like I said, there are still several singers to go.

I would have agreed until the 11th performer, Atlanta's own Kinnik Sky. Simon was wrong for calling her performance "cabaret". I loved her rendition of "Get Here", which I happen to have always thought as too sentimental. My current faves are Mandisa, Paris (another homegirl!), and Kinnik. The others are gonna have to step it up and show and prove over the next several weeks.

Now she did tear that song up! When she was talking about what she was going to sing I told my daughter "Good choice!" and I think she did an excellent job!

I like Paris, but I honestly thought that she was a bit over the top last night, but apparently, that's what the judges were looking for.

Brenna (is that her name from Mt. Vernon?) is a bit too much for me, period.

Missed it last night but from what I saw of her in the past 2 weeks, she is too much for me as well.

Lawd Geezus @ Brenna...was I the only one that saw her dropping it like it was hot at the end of the show when the credits were rolling!?!? The girl got issues. I'm mad she was singing that song all seductive.

I'm loving Paris!!!

I agree, Paris was a little extra last night.

I can see right now that Brenna will annoy me just like that Mikaila Gordon did last year

Once again, my personal opinion:

As a whole, I think the guys outperformed the girls. I really thought they were all good, versus about 8 of the 12 girls.

I also think the guys were better than the girls.

Ladies Night

Paris was a bit much. Now, she can sing but trying to act like Fantasia during her performance ticked me off. Everyone knows that Fantasia dances around and kicks that leg up when she performs. Paris also seems immature.

Katherine, the last girl, was good. She has a good voice. She's my favorite of the white girls.

I also like Mandisa...gotta give it up for the big girls! I would at least like to see her make it to the top 12. She has a pleasing personality and a good voice.

Kinnik was ok. There were some rough spots in her performance of "Get Here" but overall she did ok. I think it was a "safe" song for her.

Brenna is out of control. And yes, I saw her dropping it like it's hot at the end of the show. She needs to watch it. I feel a scandal surfacing with her.

The Men

My favs:

Chris (a cutie)

Elliot (My sister said he looks like he should be on Lord of the Rings...LOL. The boy can sing though.)

Gedeon (the only brother so you know they are probably looking for a white guy this year)

Taylor Hicks (grey haired one)

Ace

Sway (Simon was wrong for saying his performance was pimpy...LOL)

The guys who had me saying "What the heck were you thinking?" were: The one singing the Barry Manilow song and the Crooner

It's hard for me to say which girls will get voted off on Thursday. But I think the guy singing the Barry Manilow song and Bucky will leave this week.

The Guys

Elliot- might have been the best vocally but he needs to watch it cuz he did come off very karoake

Gedeon- I like the throwback vibe he had.. very Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson and he perofrmed very well... certainly unique in the sense

Ace- clearly he is being pimped for the Top 12. He should have done One More Try.. I think there are some songs that can be redone.... speaking of

Sway- he went there and didn't quite make it. Very ambitious song choice but if you can't match Philip Bailey don't do any EWF songs

Chris- really good.. he channeled Jon Bon Jovi. Solid

Everyone else was mediocre to bad(although I think Bucky will be safe)

I missed the 1st half of the performances. But of what I did watch, my favorite is Taylor Hicks. I love how he gets into the music and you can tell that he feels what he's singing. I didn't particularly care for the song he sung last night, but he did well.

I caught the snippets they showed of each performer and I'm not sure what Sway was thinking for attempting to sing "Reasons".

Gideon has a Broadway/Ben Vereen feel to him with all the grinnin' he was doing.

I think Ace will survive. Face it, he has the looks that make teenage girls in the wider society excited.

I'm not surprised at the ones who were voted off. The last girl really has a pretty soprano voice and she picked a terrible song. I think she could have rocked a Mariah Carey song.
