Jessica Simpson apparently impressed the right people playing Daisy Duke in "The Dukes of Hazzard" movie. Now there's word that she is the unanimous choice to take over Pamela Anderson's role in the movie remake of "Baywatch." She obviously has the physical assets to put on that little red bathing suit. But the acting skills? Whoever needed acting skills to be on "Baywatch"???

There's also speculation that she's being considered to play the role of Lucy Ewing (so fabulously played by Charlene Tilton in the series) in the upcoming DALLAS movie.

Why? I don't know, but when they're considering J Lo to play Sue Ellen, one doesn't really know what the producers are thinking.

It was true, and I don't blame him.

Nick was told marriage was over (People.com)

Nick Lachey is now offering a more thorough peek inside his former marriage to Jessica Simpson than viewers were allowed to see on their Newlyweds reality series.

"Jessica and I began playing these parts even when we were by ourselves," he says of their roles. "It became a really blurred line. There was a question about what truly was our reality."

Lachey, 32, makes the comments to Rolling Stone in a new interview. Among the singer's more startling revelations: "I'll tell you how I knew my marriage was over: I was told."

He tells the magazine he was "blindsided" when his then-wife told him after dinner last November: "I think I want a divorce."

"I basically said, 'Please, let's sleep on it.' But when we woke up the next day, Wednesday, she was still sure," he says.

As for lingering doubts about his three-year-marriage, Lachey admits: "I don't know if there were other men. But if she did cheat, it was the result of something bigger, not the reason we didn't work. ... Sometimes I think it would be easier if I had just walked in the house and found her in bed with a guy. That would be clear-cut. End of story. I wouldn't have to deal with the uncertainty of adultery."

Lachey also lifts the veil on his feelings about ex-father-in-law (and Jessica's manager) Joe Simpson. "I don't pretend to understand Joe," he says. "I don't know if he ever liked me. To this day I couldn't say. It was painful. Do I think Joe drove a rift between us? No. Was he an influence in our marriage? Absolutely."

In related news, the music publication also says that singer-songwriter Adam Green has a big new hit in Germany called "Jessica," described as an unflattering ditty about Nick's ex. Its lyrics reportedly mention her "fraudulent smile" and "injections of cortisone."

ETonline also said that he broke down crying during the interview and that she called for divorce right after the American Music Awards. The Rolling Stone comes out on Friday.

Poor thing.

And everyone thinks Jessica is the "victim"? I think not? I feel bad for Nick. Being blindsided about the divorce, hell even putting up with Jessica's endless array of childish antics.

Well, Charlene Tilton wasn't exactly a great actress. Maybe they think Lucy is supposed to be played by someone who can camp it up but can't really act?

Of course, Jessica Simpson is too old for the high school/college aged Lucy.

Maybe I'm blinded too.....but I am totally on Nick's side. That interview for me just confirmed it.

I'm so on Nick's side here, that is if there's a side to be on.

I think it comes out tomorrow, but the "What's Left of Me" 1hr special on MTV by Nick looks good. It's an insight to his new album, followed by a 1/2hr making the video and video premiere. This album seems much better than anything else he's done, probably b/c he has so much emotion writing it since he said it all came out as his world fell apart in 2005... poor guy.

I was driving home friday after work and I heard on the radio that Jessica is now wearing her ring around her neck on a chain again.

What do you think that means?

I think this girl has no clue what the heck to do. Shes a idiot. She wants him one min, the next she doesnt. I think her dad is the boss too and tells her what to do. I just hope they dont get back together.

Some Tuesday in May.

I watched the special today and you can really tell how hurt he is. I feel so bad for the guy.

His new song Resoultion is so good though. I've never really thought he was as good of a singer as Jessica, but now I take that back.

His What's Left of Me video isn't my favorite though. Like good concept and everything, but his singing seems to overpower his mouthing the words. Like it doesn't match up to me. I love the song though, outside of the video.

'You can still move on and have the memories'
Jessica Simpson is wearing her wedding ring again - but insists she isn't back with estranged husband, Nick Lachey. The 'Newlyweds' stars split last year after three years of marriage, and the pair are in the middle of divorce proceedings. Jessica has now been spotted wearing the wedding band on a chain round her neck rather than on her finger. A friend of the singer-turned-actress insists the blonde has decided to wear it again to remind herself of the happy times the couple shared. The pal told America's People magazine: "You can still move on and have the memories. "Nick will always be an important part of her life." The ring is accompanied by two crosses, one that was given to Jessica by her parents, while the other matches a crucifix that both her sister, Ashlee, and mother, Tina, wear. A source close the 'Dukes Of Hazzard' star also revealed the jewellery represents "a combination of things that are important to her." Tonight.co.za
