I don't get Moe's. The one in Oxford actually closed a few years ago. It was like nasty Taco Bell food! I guess I'm alone in liking Wendy's, I love their spicy chicken sandwhich. Their fries can be gross if not cooked properly.
I totally agree about Applebee's! I mean WTH! The one here in Oxford is never good and I always feel like the service is awful too.
(Note: Oxford is finally getting a free standing Chick-Fil-A. So it will be interesting to see how good it is. The one in the Student Union is okay but not the greatest.)

Golden corral. Any restaurant with a sneeze guard means the food has already been violated in some way the health department doesn't recommend. I don't like to eat food that's had a bad touch.

I'm sorry but I find McDonalds to be overrated. It may be a familar source of comfort for some and may be an "All American" tradition to others, but I find the food for the most part disgusting. I feel the same way about Hardees and Burger King.

I guess it also depends on what you think of as "fast food."
If you're talking just the big chain places, then yes, they're all overrated to some extent.
However, if you're talking about the local places (i.e. Anna's Taqueria and Eagle's Deli in Boston, Five Guys in DC, etc.), then I think there's an argument to be made that those are legitimately good food establishments. I've always said that you can get good quality food at places like that. If you think I'm overrating it, watch an episode of Anthony Bourdain, or look through a Zagat guide...while there's obviously something to be said about top-shelf, five star establishments, you can get solid food at small local joints.
I also have to say, that when I hear someone immediately dismiss a place out of hand because it's a hole in the wall, or a grab and go establishment, I have serious questions about that person's taste in food.

Five guys is a local place? I've eaten at Five Guys in Blacksburg, VA, Howell, NJ, Baltimore, MD, and Philadelphia, PA. I would consider them a chain, by now...not in the same way as Hardee's or Mickey D's, but they're constantly expanding.
I liked Five Guys at first, but now I avoid them and make my own burgers. I don't like feeling like I'm going to have a heart attack every time I step in there. I'm still in my 20s, lol.

Well that's more what I meant - that I wouldn't compare them to Hardees or Mickey D's, etc. It wasn't a precise choice of words on my part.
The one in the Hartford area in CT is actually REALLY good.
ETA: They're definitely not healthy - the fries especially.

Understood. You mean the bag dripping with peanut oil and potato grease?
Those fries are so good. I just can't keep hurting my body, lol.

Haha, yep, that one. The fries are excellent - the problem is they give you so many of them, and before you know it, you've finished them.
The fries are excellent, though - I'd put them up there with the Bristol Lounge (Four Seasons in Boston) and Radius (also in Boston) as some of the best fries I've ever had.
ETA: I heard the fries at Anthony Bourdain's restaurants (Les Halles) are also pretty incredible.

I live in Jersey and never heard of Jersey Mikes. But it seems most of them are down teh shore, so maybe that's it.
