Jaime has previously stated that he made no attempts to sound like a singer in this film, as his character in the movie was NOT a singer. That would have made his character awkward.

I remember him saying that on Oprah. But, the movie still is a musical. He didn't have to sound great, but at least good.

Golden Globes
Jennifer Hudson and Eddie Murphy both won for Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actress for Dreamgirls.
I think Hudson's definitely going to win next month at the Oscars. I'm not sure about Eddie. He'll definitely get nominated. Beyonce lost to Meryl Streep.

In the scene where Beyonce & Anika were practicing alone for the first time I definitely looked at B's button-up w/leggings & pumps ensemble and noted that I wore something just like that a week ago.
It is VERY much circular.

I screamed when Jennifer won, shouted when Betty La Fea won (giving the anglisized version the win is still a win for the original) and whooped when Eddie won. I hooped because let's face it, he won for a body of work.

Saw the movie and I can honestly say I love the original more. They did a great job but it's just something about the original cast for me. *shrugs*
