I THOUGHT IT WAS TOO! And I was SOOOOOOOO mad. It said on nbc.com's website "Countdown to the One Hour Finale - Thursday 9 PM." Oh yeah, so I guess that this episode was the "Countdown" episode and next week will be the Finale. I was wondering how they were going to wrap it up because by the time they got to the boardroom there were only 5 minutes left in the show.
Does anyone else think that the teams were unfair? Tana had one of the first people that were fired (Bryan) on her team, and two of the most volatile personalities on the show (Chris and Kristen). Kendra had Erin, who was one of the last people to go. She had Michael, who was a slacker most of the time, but he was capable of doing good work - which he did in this task. Danny was pretty useless, but at least he didn't want to sabotage his PM like Kristen did.

I think the purpose of those teams were to see how Kendra and Tana handle difficult people. I don't think one team was worse than the other.
Tana got a team of volatile personalities while Kendra got a team of flakes. Kendra worked hard and made the team like her. She didn't talk badly of them behind their backs and she treated them with respect. She made her team want to work for her. Tana was disrespectful to her team so, naturally, they didn't want to work hard for her. I think Tana could have had a great team but she didn't work to earn their respect which is why she failed.

Ms. MysticCat and I both thought that Tana had a worse team than Kendra and had a harder task.
As for teams, Kendra had space cadets, but (with the sometime exception of Michael), they were space cadets who were willing to work. Tana had Brian and Kristin, whom I wouldn't trust to rake my yard. At times, it seemed like the two of them were trying to lose.
As for tasks, Kendra had to get the place set up (not a small task to be sure), but once the event got started, it basically ran itself, with just some oversight from her.
Tana had to get the place set up and make other preparations (like the unusable programs), had to take care of a host of VIPs (including the Governor she kept waiting) plus schoolkids, and had to exercise a great deal more oversight and management during the actual running of the event to keep it running smoothly, or at least what she thought was smoothly.
But regardless, Tana -- as much as I like her -- was in way over her head. She seemed clueless about how to try to get her team to work for her or how to inspire confidence and a desire to win. What was up with that "the executive doesn't walk out with the employees" bit, and then her sneaking to her limo? So lame. She didn't understand how to delegate appropriately. And she seemed oblivious to (or too distracted by other problems to worry about) the needs of her VIPs.
Unless we were being set up by editing, no way Tana can win.
Kendra, on the other hand, finally showed some leadership skills.

Tana really surprised me in this task. She seemed to be very overwhelmed with overseeing the event (but then again, I think they showed more of her event than Kendra's). Due to editing, I'm sure that Kendra also had issues as well, but they obviously didn't mushroom into bigger problems. I didn't understand why Tana couldn't walk out with her employees, and I couldn't believe that she said on the limo ride back to the suite that she was sure she had won and that her family would be packing up and moving to NY soon. She seemed cocky.
On a side note... Kendra went to the University of Florida. Does anyone know if she was Greek?

At least it was better last season's finale, where the Jenn-bashing took up half the friggin show. This one was short and sweet.

Well, that was a waste of my time to watch....I actually prefered the two hour long finales where they talked to ALL the contestants, rather than 3 (Kristen, Erin, & Chris).
I really liked Tana for a while, but after the way she got SO obnoxious tonight about the "shape" of the Pontiac brochure, I was thinking to myself that she better not win after that. I understand wanting to have credit for what you were responsible for, but at the same time, you don't have to be so overbearing about it.
But of course, that's just my .02

Did anyone else get the sense that Trump tailored the job offers (Miss Universe, Real Estate) to the final candidates? Like he knew who would pick which one? These tasks also seemed more feminine...

Why doesn't that surprise me...? After all, he is the executive producer of the show, and HMFIC of The Trump Organzation.
Tana sure did show her true colors... carping about getting credit where credit is due didn't make her look better to Trump and the audience. Kendra stayed stealth until it was time to stand up and be counted.
Next up... Apprentice overdose: The Apprentice: Martha "Brig Bunny" Stewart and Apprentice 4. Ain't wasting my time with the DVR on either of 'em.

Don't know about more feminine, but yes the tasks seemed to be tailored, and neither one seemed to have the, say, importance of the tasks the last 2 seasons -- supervising construction of a high-rise in Chicago and of a golf course. One was pageant planning (with a professional at your side) and the other was overseeing the renovation of a house (a very big house, but a house). Neither task screamed "I have a lot of confidence in you."
And I didn't think Tana looked bad for demanding credit for her design -- Trump would have done the same thing. Kendra had taken complete credit, as Trump pointed out. Kendra was the one who came off looking bad there.
What I found interesting was Trump saying he didn't like it that Kendra cried, after he told her in the boardroom (last week) that it was okay to cry.
But the bottom line is that Tana screwed herself. Kendra showed absolutely no leadership skills at all until the last task, where she was great. In fact, in the Pontiac task, she showed an abysmal lack of leadership skills. Trump, George and Carolyn all criticized her for "flying under the radar."
Tana, on the other hand, showed fantastic leadership skills until the last task (well, okay, until the Beadazzler fiasco), when she choked and made the huge mistake of constantly knocking her team. Had it not been for that, Tana would have won, I think.
