However, I don't think "total number of initiates, ever" is necessarily a good indicator of demand for Lily prints. I don't think dead women buy a lot of scarves and makeup cases.

True but it does give you an idea of how big a sorority is nationally. I would have like to have done it by sororities that have the most Southern and coastal chapters, but alas, not enough free time.

That being said, I'm shocked that Phi Mu does not have a print. I actually, when first listed then, went to put their name in bold but realized that I had too many, and then went to double check the Lilly page for the results. I just feel that Phi Mu has such a strong presence at those Southern schools where Lilly is popular that is would follow that they would get a print. And that their colors are so feminine and Lilly like. Ah well. I also wish there was a way to statistically compare living initiates, but I don't know if that info is available. Off to check.

I would love to see a Sigma Kappa print, but I'm pretty sure if I get my wish, Lilly will bastardize Lavender and Maroon into Pepto Pink and Old Lady Lipstick Pink.

If I'm wrong, so much the better... but time will tell.

Well... take a look at what Lilly did with Theta. It's truly funky. I think the designers were OTL the day they came up with that design and color combo. It's kindergarten-ish to me.

I bought the wristlet as a gift for the incoming CEO (she is a CA girl who loves all things Lilly, I know not why) and it was truly worse in real life than in the photos. However, she loves it, and that's all that matters, I suppose.

That's what I fear will happen too. I hate it when companies change the lavender to pink or dark purple and the maroon to magenta. I think Lily could do a really nice print with a lavender background, white pearls/doves, violets, and maroon accents like the outlines of the doves, etc. Keeping fingers crossed.

Right, the numbers are a good starting point, they just may not tell the whole story. One of the reasons I'd like a Phi Mu print is that we don't really have any symbols that show up naturally in designer prints. Like, Kappas can find things with keys or DG/AST can find stuff with anchors, but nobody makes stuff with a quatrefoil just for the heck of it.

I found these and these earring. And this ring. And this fabric (which I think was posted in the fabric thread). But yeah I get what you mean. When you have to shop almost exclusively on etsy for stuff with your symbol in it, it isn't common.

Apparently ZTA, Alpha Xi & Sigma Kappa are in the lead right now. I'm shocked (and thrilled)!

I for sure thought ZTA, Phi Mu & Pi Phi would take this round.

May sound strange but I think they won't do the three largest sororities' (in numbers) prints now, I think they want to space those out so each time they bring out new prints, they have a big group ordering. If they do all the big groups now that means that the audience for the next rounds of voting and prints is immediately reduced by quite a lot.

I wasn't really thinking about size. I thought that those groups had more chapters in areas where Lilly is popular (although I could be wrong).

Haven't they already done the 3 largest groups?

That's great! I could see ZTA for size and the other two for sheer membership motivation. Our colors aren't so hard to find, but quills are impossible.

Tulip, I guess that would depend on if Lily is going to fix the results. Not that they shouldn't be able to - it's their product after all - but who they want to vote and who actually does can be two very different things. And some sororities may be more connected through social media than others. I know Alpha Xi is great for that so getting the word out is a piece of cake.

Has everyone checked out the products one can order with the sorority prints? I guess I don't see what the big deal is about being able to order a makeup bag or wristlet with the sorority's letters and symbols barely recognizable. The tote bags are cute, but when the patterns are basically camouflage I don't see what the point is from a PR perspective...I mean, I think one of the reasons chapters order totes is for PR, and when you can't tell what is on the tote, it loses that value. But hey, cute bag.
