This relates to expansion.

The guys at the UIW colony voted last night to set February 12th as chartering. They will be putting their chartering packet together in November and are going for their one year anniversary to charter (they were colonized on Feb 9th)

*Edited because TOM EARP was actually giving me crap about grammar.

Yeah, I'll have a Dos Equis draft, a few limes and a twist of IRONY.

love ya Tom. lol.

Cool

lifesaver, hope you make it home for sure!

Oh I just talked to him as He was driving!

First off, give My Best to All Of The Brothers at UIW Colony, especially the Two Great Young Brothers Who were at G A!

The last night we were there and you were in J and My Room and had them get up there, they probably thought we were Nutsoids but seem to enjoy themselves.

The Night at Banquet and being an Honorering TexiCan was great!

Please, give them our Very Best for a Job Well done!

Oh, to the High Pi Of Course!

Never ever tell me you spilled a Beer, I will throtle you!

Franklin and Marshall College seems to be laying some big groundwork for the recolonization that is soon to follow.

Look for a huge colony at Alpha Theta.

Spring Colonies

While on the internet I discovered possible sites that Lambda Chi Alpha may be colonizing in the Spring 2005. We might be recolonizing the Gamma-Theta chapter at Duke U. Thursday, November 18, 2004 Lambda Chi Expansion Team Members John Otten, Josh Lodolo, and Jason Pearce just finished a 24-hour expansion visit to Duke University. Jason Pearce is not a member of the team, but is a native of the area who went along to help. Lambda Chi Alpha hasn't been on Duke's campus since 1969.
And I believe we may be colonizing at the University of California San Diego. If this is true we would have three chapters in the San Diego area, with USD and the SDSU colony already there.

Daniel, could you give a link to the site you found?

IHQ seems to be a little reluctant to give out to much inforamtion, but they do not know of the tenacity of Brothers to find things out!

This is an area that C & C needs to cover a lot more to keep us as Actives and Alums better informed.

As has been said before, not everything is roses. Hell, we are big kids, we can handle it!

Thanks for posting this, it would be nice to have Duke back along with Gamma Zeta at Amherst, our first Chapter being # 2.

Correction on Duke

Lambda Chi Alpha is one of three fraternities that presented to Duke's IFC for expansion. The other two were Delta Upsilon, and Pi Kappa Phi. So the possibility is there, just not a sure thing. Hope Lambda Chi Alpha is choosen, lots of great alumni from that chapter that I have met.

I didnt even think about posting this. Josh came to the UIW colony directly from the Duke visit. I dont remember tho how he said it went. He did say it would be a good campus for us to get back on.

Yes, it would be great to be on Duke U. and a nice feather in the cap.

But, isnt it hard for any Fraternity to enter a Southern College?

I could check, but have We ever been at Duke?

Knowing a little from what I have heard about Southern Schools, it is very hard to go up against a lot of established Greeks there. Do We have any or a large amount of Alums in the area to work with a possible new Colony there?

Maybe some of the Brothers can help us out on this for an introspective point of view.

I just wonder how much time and financial costs it would entail!

Would the time and money be better spent elsewhere?

I am all for expansion, but when and where is also important.

to bring you up to date....LOL

TKE has come and gone and come and gone in the community
college scene. We chartered two...Miami-Dade & Broward. They
seemed promising but the two years were not enough. I surveyed all the exisiting public/state community colleges while I
was dean of one and reported back with a negative report.
Sig Pi, Sig Ep, perhaps others have gone in to the two year school
and Sig Pi is yet at Vincennes. You guys are right. We failed at both, no sense you having to re-invent the wheel again.
If you really want to whip yourselves, then go to some of the
of the rinky-dink schools in the eastern urban areas or spread a
charter over a metro area...or even better, confer the PhD and the fraternity membership at birth.
Kappa Sig has a neat saying...something like "Not every man will
wear the badge..."
Most of us are not nutso about being a rehabilitation center.

Duke

Tom did you not fully read my post. Duke is Gamma-Theta Zeta and was closed in 1969. We have had several prominent alumni from this chapter including the members of the GHZ. Dr. Robert E. Alexander, Grand High Rho, Duke ’62 is a current member of the GHZ and was the former chancelor of the University of South Carolina-Aiken, probably the reason we open a chapter a year ago. I also believe the former president of IBM was an alumni and a past member of the GHZ, I can;t recall his name right now.

AGAIN.....
Why are we discussing this? I'll quote myself from a post about 15 posts back.

"Well, no one has to worry about the (Community college) thing, because the bill authorizing it didnt pass at (General Assembly) this summer.

We can talk about a bunch of other things that arent going to happen too if ya would like.

Lambda Chi Colony on the Moon. Discuss.

Now, lets get back to topic."
