Ebony Magazine: Former HBCU Queens

I finally saw the article which featured former HBCU queens 'then and now'. I was surprised that the MAJORITY of the former queens are SINGLE. Maybe it's by choice, maybe they were married at one time, maybe not.

I really found that of those featured I THINK only one was married.

I guess it really isn't uncommon anymore to be over 30 and not married.

Sidenote: one former queen was active with my chapter last year.

my Soror-mom noted that in her day, the campus queen was THE woman to marry, of course, this was the 60s. i wonder if queens from PWIs have the same sort of statistic?
if i remember nothing else from that article, it is that 90% of those women are single

I saw that and was shocked as well. Maybe the runners up got all the men.
