CHAPTER's CHristmas's
I was wondering how different chapters celebrate christmas?
Delta Eta, has a Collegian/Advisor Christmas party usually either at our Chapter House or Advisor's home and we all buy one Alpha Delta Pi gift, and we play white elephant along.
Also, to include Alumnae, the day of Fall Commencement Delta Eta holds a Christmas Tea and invites area Alumnae. Usually for the new College graduates, Jewell Degree is held. I just recieved Jewell Degree two weeks ago and just thought it was absolutly wonderful!
Also, I hope everyone can support me, as of right now I've made the first round of the TCC interview process!
Hope to hear back!

Here in Arizona we have a alumnae holiday party. The collegians who are graduating are invited to come (there were none graduating this December though). Last year we did Jewel Degree for about 5 of them.
We do a gift exchange also. Although this year and last year I had two of the gifts "stolen" and finally the third I got to keep.

last meeting of the semester we have a holiday party. everyone brings an ornament for the tree, our parent's club serves us food, and we do a white elephant thing where the president reads
the night before christmas' and everyone passes their gift everytime she says the word 'the'. it's cool.

Right now, our Alumnae Association is just getting started up again, so I'll speak from the past. We had our Black Diamond Ball in the spring, so we had a Christmas Semi-Formal in the suite at Christmas time. It was actually very sweet and romantic! We didn't do a gift exchange, but we had a Christmas stocking for everyone with gifties in it for everyone, and at one point, each sister & her date would hang an ornament on the tree (photo op). Sounds dorky, but it was an inexpensive yet elegant way to start off the holidays!

While I was still in college, my chapter did a draw a name and then you bought for that sister (and one of the members of the chapter dressed up as Santa) and you would "sit" on Santa's lap as you opened your gift, then try to guess who had your name. We also (the first Christmas as an active) decorated an ornament to hang on the tree, and all the ornaments would go on the tree, even those members who had graduated already.
This year, as an advisor, I went to Eta Sigma's chapter party. They drew names as well, and then bought an ornament and added the sister's name/decorated it for the tree and then exchanged the gift (I think it was a $10 maximum). It was a lot of fun!
The San Diego AA does a white elephant gift exchange, where there are TWO "Things" that come back every year and are passed around - it's a lot of fun to see who will get THE Thing and who gets the other thing

Ours was a diverse chapter of women from different religious backgrounds, so instead of a Christmas party, we had a "Holiday Dinner" before our last meeting of the year. There were some friendly Pride competitions (dress your pride leader up like a Snowman!), and "Santa" would visit and take photos in the formal living room with sisters.

My chapter has an end of the semester party where we do senior willings, secret seniors, pass the gavel around and reminice about the semester, and eat a ton of food. If it is a chapter event, then there is food. Jewell degree is usually done the day of the party or sometime that weekend.
