~Seeing My Sisters~

Ok, so I went to El Torito (which is directly across the street from my work) for lunch with my co-workers to have a drink and eat... Some guys walk in, and I notice that they are wearing SAE letters. I got excited and told my co-workers about them (well, what I knew...) and how I know some of their brothers.

Anyways, along come some girls. I just figured that they were from another sorority, and didn't think anything of it. Then in walks a girl with a black bag and FSS in big letters across it! I freaked out! All I kept saying was, "They're my sisters! They're my sisters!" I got up and tapped the closet girl to me on the shoulder. When she turned around, I asked her if she was a Phi Sig. She said yes, and then asked me if I was. Of course I told her I was... So then she told everyone at the table who I was and we chatted for a minute->I didn't want to leave my co-workers, that's kinda shadey.

So to make a long story short, I called my Lil Sis and told her that I met some sisters from Chapman. She asked me where they were and if I was still going to be there... Unfortunately, my lunch break was up, but I told her to still come by. (They're on their way right now) So at 10:30 when I have my last break, I'm gonna run over there to hang out for 15 minutes! hehe... Hey, but that's 15 minutes that I get to have fun and don't have to work, right????

Ok, so I just thought that was a pretty cool story to tell. Gotta get back to work now. URGH!

that's so cool that you ran into sisters like that!

It must be great have chapters relatively near by so that you're always meeting new sisters!

Today was my first day at my new job (at Cingular Wireless) and while I didn't know much about how to do things or answers to people's questions, I tried my best. There were two women that walked in, a mom and daughter, inquiring about switching plans and stuff like that. I was really confident in what I was doing and helped them the best I could. Well to make a really long story short, while we were waiting for the computer to do it's stuff, we got to talking. The mother asked me what sorority I was in (she could only see the Phi and first Sig of my lavalier) and when I told her she got all red with excitement and said, "I AM TOO!" The daughter was all excited because she's trying to make an interest group down in San Diego.

Isn't that just a small world???

So I gave her my phone # and email address, because she wanted to keep in contact and get more involved with Phi Sig.

Tell me that's not the coolest thing that's ever happend! And on my FIRST day of work too....

Ok, well I'm gonna go run off some of this excitement that I still have... haha

I was at a football game for my school yesterday, it was 4 hours away from school because it was an away game and me and a couple of my sister saw a girl wearing a phi sig shirt in the stands. We went up to her and told her we were Phi sig and her shirt said Zeta Mu chapter, which is the chapter I am in. She was older than us and she told us that she was in the Gamma class, the last time they did pledge classes. That was in 1992. So we were very excited and talked to her for a bit. It was pretty cool to see her at an away game.

Gosh the only time I have ever run into Phi Sig sisters at random was at the AIDS walk...haha. Two sisters from the err...I think they were either La Verne or Woodbury =P came up to me and asked if I was a Phi Sig. Surprised, I turned around and there were the letters. Yay! So I gave them hugs all around.

I remember running into Beth once down in Long Beach. I was out with my two friends when someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around and it took me quite some time to figure out who it was! Good lord.

Hi There,

Today was one of our recruitment parties so I was wearing chapter letters. Class got out early so I was walking over to the student union to see how things went. I start to pass a group of women when I hear one of them say Phi Sigma Sigma, I'm a Phi Sig. I turn around and am like what because it wasn't anyone I knew on campus. It turns out one of our part time faculty members on campus with the Marriage and Family therapy masters program is a Phi Sig from our Zeta chapter that was at UCLA. I think it was so cool meeting her and I got her contact info. I'm thinking if she is a long term part timer I may suggest we have her as one of our faculty advisors. It was just a lot of fun meeting a faculty member who's a Phi Sig.

About a two weeks ago, my mom was in the hospital for an operation, well i went down the street to get something to eat, when i was coming back to the hospital i heard my name so i turned around and saw one of my sisters on the corner! She said she only recognized me because i had my sweater on. It turns out she got lost on the freeway and got off on that street. She gave me a ride back to the hospital and i gave her the correct directions. It was such a coincidence.

I finally got to meet Cara last night!!! YEAH!

I'm still excited about it!!!

After I left, I had to go to the Starbucks by my house and pick up my mom something (she got jealous when I told her where I was) and I couldn't resist... I got myself my caramel frappachino that I gave to Kiki earlier!

Yeah, so I was on a caffeine high all night! (I might still be!)

Anyways, yeah, we DEFINATELY have to get a road trip together and head up to your area. I know I'm suppose to be going up to Berkley in Spring, to see my friend's graduation... But I'd like to go up there before then.

We'll see.

Hope you all had a safe trip home! What time did you actually get in? Did Maurie get to work on time???

I'm soo happy we got to meet up too ! I have to say Iota Gamma has the coolest girls EVER and we had such a good time chatting with you all, it was so great that quite a few of you were able to come out and have coffee with us. You can come on up anytime and stay ! We didn't get home until 5:45 AM or so because we stopped in Arcadia to say hi to one of our girls who transfered to Cal State LA and stayed there until about midnight, but it was worth it seeing everyone. Yeah now I've met 4 GCers !!

Kiki told me today that a few Delta Gamma sisters came last night....I wish I could've been there to meet them! Hopefully you'll visit again!

Ah man I missed the Delta Gamma sisters too. Bummer.

Just for that Cara, you and other Delta Gamma sisters need to drive down next weekend when the SFSU soccer team plays the CSUDH soccer. It's our Homecoming week next week to.
