Oh my,
See what happens when a person doesn't check GC for 2 days, pure insanity.
You guys check we up. Wherever you guys want to have the greekchat.com formal weekend is fine with me. I've been to Canada(use to live in Michigan), Louisiana is cool, California is awesome. As long as Dave is there to provide the entertainment, I'll be happy

BBQ! cool beans! BEER, no problem...if chicken is also on the menu, the Omegas will DEFINETLY show up (I love my Bruhs, I really do LOL)! LOL!
ok, grits (which, IMO, are YUMMY with butter & cheese) (courtesy of <A HREF="http://"http://grits.com"" TARGET=_blank>grits.com</A>):
Grits are small broken grains of corn. They were first produced by Native Americans centuries ago. They made both "corn" grits and "hominy" grits.
Falls Mill produces "corn" grits.
Corn Grits
Falls Mill mills locally grown whole white hybrid corn. The corn is dried to a 14% moisture content, then each kernel is cleaned with forced air. The kernels of grain are run through the mill stone where they are ground to a certain texture and then sifted through two wire mesh screens. The three products sorted are white corn meal, white corn grits and the bran that pops off. There is a fine bran still in the grits product. This bran will never soften up with cooking. Depending on personal preference, the bran can be left in or removed by rinsing the grits before cooking. Yummy!
Hominy is made from field corn that is soaked in lye water (potash water in the old days) and stirred over the next day or two until the entire shell or bran comes loose and rises to the top. The kernel itself swells to twice its original size. After the remaining kernels have been rinsed several times, they are spread to dry either on cloth or screen dryers.

Is that the coolest or what?!! I have not yet met her in person though, cuz she's still at school. But, we've emailed and emailed, and when she's back in May, I'll meet her!

Yah, that'd be quite the event. Bunch'o greeks meeting up at Mardi Gras. My guess is we'd have a great time, but none of us would remember the next day. Granted, could you imagine what a party that would be ?!? But again, i remind all of you about the many wonders of Candian beer. Once you try it, you'll never go back.
But if you want beeds instead of beer, i understand....

Alright--her's the deal. Is there anybody out there in Greekchat land that's knows they are coming to Mardi Gras next year besides sigmagrrl? Here's what I'll do--if anybody decides to come down I will personally throw everybody a party and show y'all around NOLA. HOW'S THAT for a deal??? I want everybody to come visit me here in Louisiana.
Oh and by the way--is there anybody on here that lives near Sacramento??? The Sigma Alpha National Convention is being held there in October and I'd love to meet some Californian Greekchatters while I'm there!!!!!

Me too! I'm so thankful there is a website like this where I ask all the questions I'd be afraid to ask anyone in person...
While I'm here, I might as well say that I went to high school with Allie_XO and she's so sweet!
