Some people have it, some don't. Depo gave me spotting for about 3 weeks near the end of the 3 month shot, but nothing monthly. Thing is, the "period" during BC isn't a real period anyway, it's just withdrawal bleeding.

When did I say that every human being using a drug whose primary application is birth control, is necessarily using it for BC and BC alone?

The whole point of BIRTH CONTROL is so that you can decrease your risk of pregnancy without forgoing sex. If you are (for example) taking the pill to regulate your cycle, yes, it happens to be a birth control method, but you aren't taking it for birth control, you're taking it to regulate your cycle.

I have switched from Yasmin to Seasonale which is a three month cycle. I personally haven't had any break through bleeding...and I have one week left of the three months.

Well, it didn't just lower my sex drive, it was non-existent. So yeah, that was keeping me from getting pregnant because I wasn't having any sex anyway! (I know, my poor boyfriend)

LOL. The central purpose of birth control is birth control and I think most women who are on birth control are on it for birth control.

The other uses are additional perks but most women are not on birth control for the central purpose of regulating their menstrual cycle, clearing their acne, etc.

I was about to say...I don't know why it's such a big deal to acknowledge that one is taking oral contraceptives for uh, contraceptive, reasons. Yeah, it has side benefits, but at 30 the chances are pretty low that you're using it to calm down your acne, LOL.

Hey now, sometimes he takes a break from Miss Right and goes looking for a change in scenery.

Why hello Miss Left.

And even those that began taking it for cramps/skin eventually use it for keeping the babies at bay, too. I got it at 16 for cramps and for the added benefit of clearer skin, but of course years later, it's got more important uses.

That grosses me out...when it comes to a hook up, no matter what you think you know about them...you don't know where that's been. Every time I hear a friend recount sex shenanigans I facepalm from the fact that there's no condom involved.

I've taken three (I started originally taking them to relieve cramps). I had really bad cramps where I would have to miss a half day of school due to the pain.

I can't remember the first one, but then switched to Yaz. I started feeling chest pain about a year ago, so I switched to Junel FE (haven't had any issues with it). Plus Junel FE also treats acne My face has never had issues with acne *knock on wood*

Oy. So my Ob/Gyn was too lazy to look at my chart when she faxed in a refill for me. Of course, she faxed in the WRONG med, and Medco charged me $150 more than I would have been had she faxed the right one. To compensate me, she has given me a year's worth of Loestrin 24, which I have never taken. Just curious if anyone has and what their experience was.

It's been years since I've taken the pill, but I have a question for those of you who do. I think the name is Seasonique (?), which has four periods a year? How do you know if you're pregnant on that? It may sound like a naive question (and probably is) but everytime I see the commercial, I wonder how.
