Cool New Chapter

I have recently begun talking with the Board of a national high school sorority called Delta Beta Sigma (DBS). This sorority has been around for over 40 years. They are relatively regional, mainly having chapters in Arkansas, Alabaa, Tennessee, and, I think, Texas and Louisiana. My sister was a member, and most of my high school friends were, too. I want to start a chapter in the community (this is not a school based organization) from scratch. I have a few girls who think it is a great idea, but need at least seven founding memebers, 10-12 is better. Does anyone have advice on how to go about getting together a group of girls to begin the colonization process? I have to involve the mothers just as actively as the girls. How should I present this type of organization to a room of prospective members and their mothers?

my first question would be your gender? since "your sister and all of your friends" were members of DBS, but not you, are you a male? If so, I think your first step will be to get a female teacher that would co-sponsor with you. Otherwise, there could be propriety issues...
