I don't get the reasoning that they are getting too old. Emma Watson is 17 right now. She'll only be playing a part that is one or two years younger than her. 90210 had characters that were 10 years younger than their real ages and no one cared about that.
I think there's too much going on in the books to make 6 and 7 one movie. It'd have to be six hours. Of course, I wouldn't mind sitting through a movie that long if it was HP!

Yeah, post-puberty you can get away with a LOT when it comes to ages. No one's going to be like, OMG Harry's too old, because they've watched him grow up in the first place.

3 good points! So, do you think Harry, Ron, and Hermione will all live since JKR said they would? Or do you think she's changed her mind since she said it in like 1999? (See one of my posts toward the top of the page).

I started re-reading the first book today. Knowing what I know now....I think there's a reason why Harry and Voldemort's wands both had phoenix feathers. The Phoenix is a symbol of rebirth I think.

Yeah...I don't know. I really enjoyed the HP books, but...it's really JUST a book. If Dumbledore didn't sex it up was another man in any of the books, then as far as I'm concerned he's just another sexually ambiguous character. In general I don't really see the point of knowing all of these add'l details that didn't play out in the books about someone who is...well not real. It just seems to be a bit much to me.

Lol. All I have to say about Gandalf is (ignoring the canon of the stories, he's essentially an angel) look at the actor who portrayed him

I know!!! That's the first thing I looked at.
One of my B&N co-workers told me she also heard that Dumbledore was in love with Grindelwald.

Yeah, that close friendship they had was much more of a fall in love thing. It's why the last thing he wanted to do was have to fight him.
I really think it makes the fact that Dumbledore was the one to bring Grindelwald to justice a much more compelling story than just "Good wizard beats bad wizard"
