Just an idea.

I second this idea. Can we merge these threads?

That's who popped into my mind when I heard this. I think it will be him just b/c of all the speculation that he might be the half-blood prince...I think he's going to play heavily in the next installment, so it would make sense to kill him. I wish it would be Percy Weasley, though.

Have any of you who go to JK's site been able to get behind the "Do Not Disturb" door? It's said that it only opens at certain times and I really want to know what's back there.

As for the dying speculation, I take back what I said about thinking it will be Ron. Having always thought that Harry and Hermione would end in a romance, I'm starting to think there is more of a chance for Ron and Hermione and alot of things in the text seem to hint to this. Therefore, I don't really think she'll kill off either of them.
Hagrid would be a possibility. He's always trying to get in an help Harry and could just get in too much trouble this time.

Neville has way too much backstory to kill him off, although with the torturing of his parents, I'm sure Voldemort has "unfinished business" with the Longbottoms and wouldn't mind knocking another off.

Rant done. I'm such a nerd! =)

Yes but I need the instructions on Mugglenet to help solve the puzzles sometimes. When the sign comes down, there is usually a puzzle of sorts that you need to solve before the goody appears. The last time it opened there was a short passage from the new book.

That's right about Neville.

If I remember correctly wasn't it that Neville and Harry were born on the same day but Voldemort just "assumed" that Harry was the child spoken of in the prophecy? I remember in the book Dumbledore telling Harry this and believing that in fact Harry is the child in the prophecy. Even if it is true, Voldemort might find out about Neville being born on the same day and have him killed to "eliminate the risk" that the prophecy is in fact about Neville and not Harry. (Sorry if none of this made any sense )

And don't forget all the cool stuff JK has all over her site in general. I suggest just trying to click on everything possible. Or cheat and go to Mugglenet. (Guilty!)

I think there is a whole article (editorial?) on Mugglenet on why the author (not JK, the article author) thinks Ron will die. It went somewhere along the lines of the story of the hero, the sidekick and the girl. Somehow the sidekick always (?) gets killed and the hero gets the girl. Okay... so that's an extreme generalization, but that's kind of how you leave feeling after reading that. And I'm a H/H shipper... so, yeah.

Answered my own question, actually.
Godric's Hollow has a section with the snippet of text behind the door. A description of someone/thing. Doesn't mean anything to me now, but I'm sure eventually I'll look back and be like "oh that makes total sense now".

I'm trying to get ahold of all the books for my BF, who has never read ANY of them!

ChiDeltJen, I'd LOVE the H/H possibility. But I really think it's unlikely. I just get a feeling. Trust me, I HATE the feeling. hah.

Personally, my favorite but most unlikely couple is me+Oliver Wood.

What about the HalfBlood Prince?
Perhaps Dumbledore?

I agree as well. I'll merge them.

To me, the knowledge that someone will die in Book 6 is not surprising at all. I think that most real fans were expecting this....

OK, off to merge.

Me three!

Anyways, I haven't looked at anyof the websites, so I don't know if I have ANY speculation as to who dies....I hope it's not Ron or Hermione (I'm also hoping for a H/H hookup....at least that's what I took away from the 3rd movie, as well!), but I don't want to see ANY of the "good guys" gone!

I'm pretty sure she means Hermione Granger/Severus Snape and Hermione Granger/Remus Lupin.
