You haven't been to the US till you've. . .

- had New England clam chowda (At Legal Sea Foods - it's the best!)
- seen Rock City (I have!)
- eaten at Waffle House at 2 AM
- had Southern-style iced tea
- seen Fenway Park
- people-watched on South Beach in Miami
- had a Cuban coffee at Versailles in Miami (best. Cuban. restaurant. ever.)
- walked around Harvard Yard
- had a Philly cheesesteak in Philadelphia (but don't get one at the airport, they are awful!)
- eaten Memphis-style BBQ
- seen Elvis Presley's birthplace, then been to Graceland

I am such a Cali Native and I haven't seen half the places listed... but still good to visit:

The Space Needle in Seattle
Waikiki Beach in Hawaii (Diamond Head is pretty close too.)
The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco
The Vegas Strip
The Mall of America
Virginia Beach
Knotts Berry Farm and Disneyland
Followed the El Camino Real
Lake Tahoe in the winter
san Diego in the summer
The Joshua Tree
And arg... I can't remember the exact name... but in Utah, there is the Rainbow Arch... made of rock and water erosion. That and the salt flats.
Stepped in the Four Corners

While in TN you need to go to Falls Creek Falls. It's absolutely gorgeous. And of course, go visit Mr. Jack Daniels.

I am visiting Kappa HQ! We'll be visiting Columbus on the way back to Canada. I dont' know where I'll ditch George (he's very tolerant of my being in a sorority, but I don't think he'd be interested...)

Two weeks! I'm soooo excited! But so much to do...

I'm surprised that Hottytoddy and OleMissGlitter haven't mentioned this: Graceland, too in Holly Springs, MS. It's pretty strange, but you can show up at this guy's house 24 hours-a-day and view the shrine this guy has set up in his house. Three visits and you get a lifetime membership

But it is bright pink, serves mexican sizzler style, and they have a themed dining room inside where you can dine in caves, mexian haciendias or next to the waterfall where they have performers. I was fond of that as a child. There is also a fun night area downtown.
The restaurant is called Casa Bonita -- but most residents would gag if they heard you say it. (but kids do love it, in fairness) There's some great Mexican restaurants in Denver, but it's not really considered one of them. More of a tourist place.

The Denver downtown is "electric" at night. Visit LoDo (Lower Downtown) for great restaurants and clubs, or the Denver Pavilions.

Take in a play at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. There are, I think, eight theatres, plus the home of the Colorado Symphony (and soon, Opera Colorado) in the same complex. Largest performing arts area in the country outside NYC. Even with all of our great professional sports teams (well, some of them are great), more people buy tickets to cultural events in Denver than all of the sports combined.

The University of Colorado at Boulder is about 40 minutes North and the US Air Force Academy and Pikes Peak are a little over an hour to the South.

Looks like (from your map) you're already driving I-70, so don't forget to stop at some of the wonderful old mining towns along the way. Jump off the Interstate and go over the Continental Divide on Loveland Pass instead of going under it in the Eisenhower Tunnel, then rejoin I-70 at Dillon. It's a beautiful drive, and Dillon Reservoir is maginificent surrounded by mountains. Stop to eat on the way at Keysone or in Dillon itself. Or, if you have the time, go around the "back" of the lake and visit Breckenridge.

Visit the swimming pool naturally heated by hot springs at Glenwood Springs and visit the Colorado National Monument outside Grand Junction.

There is just so much to do in Colorado.

Just looked at your map again. If you like roller coasters, you absolutely have to stop at Cedar Point at Sandusky, Ohio.

What is up with almost every area in/around Cleveland ending with "Heights"? We have a few in the STL area, but there are tons in Cleveland.

Ok, clam chowder and cheesesteaks suck everywhere!

Waffle House is absolutely awful.

Quite the positive mood you're in tonight! (Even if I do agree with some of your thoughts!)

Except Philadelphians just call them cheesesteaks. It's implied, because everywhere else, they suck

I think South Park is hilarious, but probably moreso because I'm a Colorado native. Casa Bonita is *so* disgusting! The best mexican food in Colorado is "Consuelos" in Fort Collins.

I'd say climb a 14er in Colorado should go on the list...

Ahhh good times, I remember going there when I went on a field trip to Colorado in 4th grade. I don't quite know why I even remember going there, but the resteraunt was fun to play in and I kissed the boy I had a crush on at the time in one of those silly caves.

I would say you haven't been to the states until you've spent Memorial Day or 4th of July weekend down at THE LAKE (aka The lake of the Ozarks) SOOOOO fun

Or been to a Nebraska football game at Memorial Stadium Also a great time!

Oh yes, I loved it when I went for the first time when I was 7. Then I went back at 13 and couldn't believe why I loved it so much. But I did have a great impression at 7!
