there are usually decent rugs at costco and sams. some carpet/flooring stores sell area rugs, and you might be able to catch a sale. furniture stores usually sell area rugs.

You can also custom design your own. Flor is high quality and can be done on the cheap depending on the type of tiles you select.

I was so frustrated today! I was at Joann Fabrics and ALL of their household fabrics are half off. I have a chair that I want to recover, and I stood there, no measurements whatsoever and steam coming out of my ears! GRRRRRR!!!!

I love them. I want to make a larger version, but I'm trying to see how it would fit in with the rest of my interior.

As for Brookstone's, about 3 years ago I bought the dude some organizational furniture from there in the form of a cell phone charger shelf to plug in the BBs and so forth. It was a handsome miniature wooden bookshelf that you can rest up to 6 electronic devices on and plug the chargers into the back of the wooden contraption. It made sense in theory and he still loves it. In practice, he rests his watches, peppermints, chapsticks, and other pocket stuff on it. He puts his BB and other electronic devices on the nightstand and charges them in the socket. Exciting.
I say all of this to say, Senusret, decorating and buying new furniture is fun and creative. Just make sure you will use the stuff for their intended purpose as to not end up with cutesy clutter.

I finally got a piece of the pie!
I feel like my stepfather also received the charger shelf last year or the year before with the same results.
As for cutesy clutter -- yeah, definitely trying to escape that. However, that just made me realize I'm gonna need a little hallway table to put MY keys, chapstick, peppermint, etc. Crap. lol
