DableST_1 I agree with you WGCI is horrible when it comes to varieties of music..and I too listen to B96...but you must also realize that are several dozen radio stations in Chicago and each one caters to a different sound of music. With rock n roll stations there are stations for classic rock, heavy metal, alternative..these are all forms of rock n roll just different styles. NSync has their place in the music industry but when you try to crossover you are not always welcomed with open arms.

p.s. DELTAOTE does your station b95 have any relation to Chicago's b96?

Not every Black person enjoys listening to rap/hip-hop or seeing rap/hip-hop videos whenever BET actually decides to show videos. I like a variety of music (Limp Bizkit, Moby, Jagged Edge, NSYNC, Ludacris) & I'm sure other Black folks do to. Now if BET dropped showing Black atrists to a level comprable to that of MTV, that's another story but I don't see that happening. We as a people would not & should not let that happen. Maybe it will actually turn out good that Viacom bought BET so long as we make sure our comments & concerns are heard by the proper ears.

I agree. I never thought i would defend BET. Especially since they fired a large portion of their employess with same day notice. But, I think they have the right to show whatever type of music they want. I like all types of music. keep in mind that viewers vote on 106 & park. So a BLACK audience voted to view the video. If we hadn't voted for it, it would not have been shown.
Also for the record, Mirah Carey (sp) is biracial.

If B96 is owned by ClearChannel, then probably! ClearChannel will stick with the same format across the country. I bet you have a station named ALICE(something), or a B(something). Most likely that is a clear channel station!

I love N'Sync!!!! They say that N'Sync is on BET b/c of the huge numbers of viewers that love them. I think they're on BET b/c of Viacom.
BET is home to black, and other minority, artists who, traditionally, had not been welcomed at other Music Networks. As long as N'Sync's presence doesn't overshadow those of black artists, I'm fine with it.
