I just had a tuna roll, a philly roll, and tuna sashimi. It was pretty darn tasty! I wish I had gotten the banana tempura also for dessert.

our university has a sushi bar and i get it at least 2 times a week. i switch back and forth between chick-fi-la, pizza hut, and sushi. do not eat that ignari (i think thats what its called), egg roll looking thing with nothing but sugary rice in the middle and soggy on the outside.

A word of warning about sushi: You can't be too careful about where you get it.

The cafeteria at my office offers sushi once a week. People from a local sushi restaurant come in and set up a station. I had their sushi for lunch a few times... it was decent. I figured it was more likely to be safe because it came from a sushi restaurant and, presumably, was prepared by a properly trained sushi chef.

Then, one day, one of my coworkers got very sick after eating their sushi.

I found out later that this restaurant supplies sushi to a few different area companies, and whatever doesn't sell at Company X on Monday, they bring to Company Y on Tuesday.

Needless to say, I don't get sushi at the cafeteria any more, nor will I ever go to that restaurant!!

if you've had it long enough, you can tell right away if somethings wrong. My favorite test is if it smells fishy, then it's bad The color and smell haven't failed me yet, but I'm careful about the raw food i eat.

It's hard to find really good (and cheap) sushi places outside of a big city. I had an awesome place back in Boston, made the best and tightest rolls, yummy.

I don't think there's a real difference besides the color. They both taste the same. I think it's just a variation of nori color.

I really enjoy those seaweed packets of the roasted kind they sell as snacks. The Korean style's the best, IMO.

I had some decent sushi last night, but nothing it like my place back home. I love sushi, and when I'm home its all I eat because it's a pain for me to get it up here in school.

I was never a big sushi fan. My mom loves it. So i took her to this place near my apartment and boy did have the best sushi I'd ever tasted It was philly rolls that we had,but boy were they great. I'm addicted now. I stopped and got some on the way home tonight. It made everything better

It's been wayyyy too long since the last time I had sushi. The dinky piece of Safeway sushi I had at the last Kappa (undergrad) event I went to doesn't count. (Sorry ladies)

I just came back from a huge sushi dinner with the bf and a high school friend to see this thread at the very top of the homepage. Our place has the best all you can eat sushi in LA. (And at amazing prices!)
