What should I do about the dog?

Friday night, a bunch of us went downtown and got...um...very drunk. Mr.ZTAngel's roommate joined us after he got off work. My boyfriend and I were drunk and didn't really care about offending him so we just started cracking on him for the way he treats his dog. We talked about him leaving the poor dog in the crap-infested cage, not taking care of the dog, and how the dog likes us more. He apologized and said that he felt bad but just doesn't have the time to take care of the dog. I was like, "If means you need to get up 5 minutes earlier in the morning to walk him, then that's what you have to do. You have a dog and therefore have a responsibility. It's not fair of you to put that responsibility onto me and Mr.ZTAngel." Our friends who had seen the cage in its bad condition also started cracking on him. He felt really guilty. For the past few days, he's been walking the dog every morning, he gave the dog a bath on Saturday, and he's been coming home right after work to let the dog out. I'm hoping that it stays like this!
