Actually, that's not true. DA was correct because "me" is the object of his sentence. You use "I" when it's the subject.

I'll start worrying about the correct usage of words like "alumnus" and "alumna" after people stop using apostrophes inappropriately and violating other more basic grammar rules.

Lol I wasn't picking on DA, I was just bein sarcastic .

I hate when people use apostrophes in the wrong place, cept like when we're chatting online. I always mess up their, they're, there, and theirs.

That's OK. Actually, the use of "I" and "me" is one of the most often incorrect usages because it sometimes just doesn't "sound" right because some elementary or middle school teacher has pounded "I" into our head (when it is the subject of a sentence).

Which is probably the classic example of a run on sentence.

Since we're talking about grammar...

This totally reminded me of something that happened at work. All the corporate people send emails to the stores, and some of them are posted for employees to read (those include sale changes/ FYIs about store policies, etc).

So one time, our regional director was visiting the store and we were reading one of those emails that had a lot of grammatical errors, including the wrong "their". Daniel (another associate) is a MAJOR grammar person, and said out loud "Man, you would think all these corporate people who climbed up the corporate ladder would know which "their" to use!!!!"

Well, that guy who wrote the email was in the store (regional director ) and he said "Well, it spell-checked ok!!!"

lol it was the funniest thing ever.
