I preffed Pi Phi and Alpha Phi. There was no question once my pref night was over. Pi Phi for me!

There are alumnae from my chapter who pledged in 1978 but can still tell you that they preffed Sigma and Delta Gamma (even if they can't tell you anything else about it.)

I rushed back when dinosaurs roamed the land – there were only four sororities on campus, and you could pref all four if you got invited back - that's what I did. I don't recall cuts being all that drastic (although there were some) and I suspect our recruitment wasn't quite as competitive back in the day. There were a few people who didn't go back to all the pref parties they were invited to, of course. I didn't want to be rude and was glad in the end that I had attended them all (pretty emotionally exhausting for the rushees). It was a small campus where the sorority sisters pretty much all had friends in every group. I do recall learning later that they all talked between groups to some extent and compared notes with one another about the success of their rush parties and things that happened during the parties.
