Question May Week

Hey Sorors,

What is your chapter planning for May Week? I can't post what my chapter is doing since I am MAL, but I was just interested in seeing what others were doing. Maybe others can pick up some ideas for thier events.

Question

I apologize for intruding, MsCrim, but are some of these activities open to the public?

I have heard or seen nothing about May Week here, but I am also in finals , so I'm pretty underground!!

LOL

Take care!

Can anyone besides a SOROR tell me what they believe May Week is about? Or if you have seen/attended one? Don't be afraid of being wrong, there are NO stupid answers

In a few days, I will let you know what May Week is really about. (Salience, this is when I will answer your question, 'k? )

You might as well learn something while you are here

Sorors, any objections?

Well...

I think May Week has to do with Deltas celebrating education and scholarship.

There are ceremonies/programs to celebrate academic excellence in the communities of each chapter-- I think!

But this is all I know.

For what I know about May Week, some of the events are closed and the public can only attend certain activites. For the chapter in the city I live in, there will be a tribute dinner to Seniors called "Super Seniors". I will be attending, so next week I will let every one know how it went.

Cool

Ms. Crims isn't May week a week that the Deltas set aside to stress the importance of education and profossional achievement to young kids in school. Is it like programs yall develop for the kids and yall go to the schools and have speakers and activies for the kids. I may wrong but I thought I ouwl d take a stab at it.

I know, I know!!!!

May Week is a week that the sorority of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. uses to hold programs and benefits that stress EDUCATION and PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT!

Even though the answer I gave HAS already been addressed.

Wink

DING DING DING!!!

May Week is a period that chapters use to emphasize scholastic achievements, educational opportunities and encourages higher education. It is a often the finishing event of the year. It has emphasis on the year's programs and its progress. Some chapters have a week of activities, such as, a public meeting/forum, workshops and a social event. This week can remind the community of the substantial activities along with the social events of Delta, and to preserve the Sorority's public service image as well.

I've never even heard of may week before this forum, so i'm very interested in knowing what it is. At my school we aren't unusually here in May. We're usually out by the first week in may. I would love to learn what it's about though.
