while the actives were talking to Meena, the alumni said that it had been rumored that Meena had told people that she was only there because of MTV. I kind of agree that they should have warned her first, but I also agree that they can't take the chance on letting her in on sorority secrets if they don't trust her.

A bit harsh but........
Even losers can get into Harvard. I don't think because she got accepted there makes her a great person destined to do great things. I wouldn't allow someone who obviously has other priorities or motives to continue on because they are going to an ivy league school. She has impressed Harvard and the other pledges, but not the members and that's what counts.

I don't think its a big deal that they allowed someone who is grqaduating pledge. I pledged the last semester at my undergrad BUT my Big Sisiters and everyone knew where my heart was and that I was gonna transfer to the local graduate chapter and I am still VERY active today.
BUT Meena.....come on now, in 4 weeks she couldn't make it to anything????? The socials, I can maybe understand, but the community service? No way! She had to go becasue she wasn't there for the right reasons and it wasn't a priority.
But I will have to say that the ladies in the house have formed and incredible bond which is part of the process. So I'm priud of them for coming to the aid of their "sister".
By the way, I don't think Lynnese liked Meena from jump so she was Meena was doomed from the start.

I dont think Lynnise liked Meena either, but it was still wrong of them to just vote to depledge her and not warn her. I can see both sides of it. I agree with Meena that calling her at 2:30am and telling her to be out was rude. They could have told her that at the meeting.
I CTFU too when the actives asked the pledges the question and were met with silence..

I wonder what will happen next..

I feel that it was rather gully the way the members delt with Meena, but oh well. After hearing all the stuff she was saying like 'if I wasn't living in the house, best believe no body would have seen me'--or something to that affect. Why join? I am happy to see that she got into Harvard and that she just be her main focus right now. So depledging her may actually be a good thing for her.
It was nice to see that the other pledges--well those who live in the house that is--came to her defense. I feel that is what sisterhood is about, but let's not forget that there are more pledges than those in the house. If Meena has not gone to any events, then how did she expect to bond with the other pledges and the actives? The "house" pledges were basically looking at it from their own view, but they really needed to look at the views of the actives. I am sure that if they were the actives' view, they would have agreed. I feel that Meena had no consideration for the organization from jump: She left early on the pledges' first meeting. Come on. Another thing that bothered me was eventhough she didn't make it to most of...OK ALL of the events, she should have at least called the actives to first apologize for not coming and get some feedback on the event. Obviously, she didn't do that.
P.S. Sorry for the long reply

YOU TOO???!!! lol
I didnt see him hitting her with the ball and stuff..
I got the impression that she thinks cheering is easy, its NOT..ITs a lot of hard work and fatigue and muscle strength. (I was a base, one of the ppl who holds people up and catches them, and have the bruises, shin splints and bad knees and ankles to prove it! lol)
What do you think will happen next week on SL?

I'm glad Meena got dropped...it may have been wrong how they did it, but dang. Like I said in the other thread, "cry me a river".
The next episode we'll find out if Salina (think that's her) is going to drop because of the Meena situation. I don't think she will though.

I think you're thinking of Janelle. The one who says "this is not what sisterhood is about" or something like that.
I'm also glad that Meena got DP'd. While she might have made a good sister, she simply did not have the time needed.

Well now that Meena is gone, I wonder what Jenelle is gonna do next week. She was on the phone with her mom cryin her eyes out about how she can't do this. WHATEVER!
Did anyone notice how mean the actives were treatin Meena after they spoke to her. how you gonna call her to tell her to get the fugg out at 2:30 in the a.m.
Then Linesse gonna say "I understand if she doesn't want to speak to me, but (the other active), didn't do anything to her. she could've said hello" - girl what u mean she didn't do anything to Meena, she's one of the ones that DP'd her (remember the vote was unanimous), and she's the one that called her mad late that same night. if i were Meena I wouldn't want to speak to any of them anymore either - too uncomfy. Even if she was there for the cameras. LOL!!!!

I was thinking the same thing!!!
Anyway, I think that they should have warned Meena about possibly being depledged. I understand that it is Meena's responsibility to get to know and impress the active, but they still owed her that small consideration. It's not like Meena just didn't show up at events. She was calling Val and the other actives to be excused. So, Val couldn't have let her know that she needed to start coming to events??? Better yet, why didn't she not approve her absence. She easily could have said "Meena you really need to come to these events and if you are not able to, then you may not be able to continue to pledge." Short, sweet and to the point.
It did seem like Lynnise was gunning for Meena from giddy-up. She said something about her not being able to pledge in the very beginning.
What I did find hilarious was Meena saying "I have been getting to know some actives. Me and Michelle made breakfast for someone and I got to know her really well."
Active: "Oh, who was that?"
Meena: "I don't remember her name."
How do you get to know someone really well and not know their name?
