I work at the JCC.

The director of the JCC and and the Federation are each Sammies. There are four Sammies working in the Fitness Department (2 full time & 2 part time) and there are at least 12 other members of the facility who are Sammies.

I also know of a Delta Gamma and Phi Sigma Sigma employed here as well!

I am an Army wife. I really don't know many active-duty women as GEN Alum has always been assigned to a Combat Arms unit, but many of my fellow spouses were NPC members. Base neighbors have been from Kappa, DDD, Theta, KD, ADPi, SK, and I'm sure many more. At Ft Knox, we had such a large group that we started an informal Panhellenic Alum Ass'n.

Other than myself, there is a coworker in my department who is an Alpha, and the firm administrator (controller/HR manager) who is a Kappa Delta. And a few years ago, we had an intern who was a Delta, and an ex-employee who pledged a local Greek org (Lambda Omicron Psi). But that was it.

So yeah, about this chick....for a while there, I was doubtful she was actually a Delta, then I just accepted the fact that she's just old.

I asked her where she crossed and she like blanked out for thirty seconds trying to remember....then she said "national headquarters."

Putting the pieces together, I think she was "read in" (as my mom would say) soon after she graduated.

I also found out the same coworker is a Gamma Sigma Sigma.

On our board of directors, with whom I work closely, there are two Alphas, one of whom is active in my chapter, and two AKAs, one of whom came in through Alpha chapter.

Actually, I call myself a fraternity man. As to pronunciation, we are more concerned with academic Greek than with the watered down degenerate form amusingly referred to as modern Greek.
When I was at school we studied the development and employment of Greek as both a national and broad regional 'lingua franca' for commercial and international trade use. This brought us through Homeric, Attic, Classical, and Coine. Modern Greek was not viewed as part of the domain of the Classics Faculty and was relegated to the sub-department of modern languages, one of the less selective disciplines.
As to your comment about how "we suck" I should point out that fraternity men and sorority women are known for leadership, involvement in worthwhile causes, social polish, and good hell raising, not to mention academic achievement demonstrably above the norm. I would much prefer that sort of reputation than to be thought of as a nation with a proclivity for buggery.

We just hired an AKA (there are many other in her family as well). I had no idea until I saw stuff in her office as it didn't come up in the interview process.
