Amen! It seems to me that every time there is an active thread, he seems to start a new thread discussing the same stuff. Any time someone does that, someone will post a link to the other thread. I have a friend who played a sport for UF, he's a star player who will probably be one of the 1st 10 people to be drafted this yr. Now, when you talk to him he sounds like an idiot. He talsk real slow as if he's smoked too much weed or done 1 too many wippets. He's not good looking based on what many girls say. He thinks he's the shit.....totally. He lets all of us know this, we all say shit like that to each other, but he is really bad about it. Often time we crack on him about his bad speech and how his eyes always look like he's stoned.

But!

He is still the shit. One day, in a matter of months, he'll be worth millions. A little while later, even more millions. Now, money is something this guy is used to. He comes from a family that is extremely wealthy, much much more than mine. His dad was one of the three doctors to invent laser surgeory. That said, his life style won't change all that much. He'll still be playing this sport for the rest of his career, if he's not injured, and still be rich as phuck.

In my view.....playing sports and being a millionaire......it doesn't get much better than that. You have both power and status.....



Every person is different. Sometimes you have to look beyond to surface to see where someone might be the shit. Nobody thinks a like. A person who you think is an idiot, arrogant or ugly.....can easily end up a millionaire, sex icon and a household name.....

A few examples:

50 cent.....crack dealer, gangster and ex con.

Mike Tyson, rapist.....man eater.....and talks like a fag

Angelina Jolie.....has drank her husbands blood....hates on her dad publicly AND has a nasty drug habit.

Tom Green......the name says it all.

Howard Stern.......Has to be on of the nerdiest looking guys on the planet, yet, he is still the shit.

I could go on and on for you, but do you now see where I'm trying to go with this?

I totally see where you're going with this, but I disagree. You disagree with me on the definition of bitch, I disagree with what aspects make a person the "shit" so to speak.

I obviously don't value power and money as much as you do. It's not at the top of my list of priorities. My goal in life is not to make the most money and rub it peoples faces.

Those examples you shared with me, I would not look up to any of them or admire them. Yes they have money and lots of it, but I think they're losers.

People I think are great, are obviously not the same as you. I wouldn't rank a celebrity up there. I would put people like my friends and family. Doctors, scientists.

You have gone about proving my point better than I ever could! Making money or having one special talent doesn't mean that you are an all-around cool person, as you just pointed out! Just because you have attitude and money doesn't mean you have class or intelligence. Getting a "pimp" tattoo doesn't make you classy, intelligent, or rich. It just makes you pathetic. Money isn't what makes people cool or interesting. Money isn't a reason for arrogance.

Besides, even if you want admire or want to be like the people listed above--you're not. I mean, you don't have the millions of dollars, even!

To me, someone is not "the shit" (or what have you) unless they're an ALL AROUND awesome person--talented, fun, non-arrogant, and classy. Your idea of what makes people "the shit" is obviously some weird characteristic you define both as being a "pimp" and having money.

I go to one of the most upperclass, rich, classy (yes, and sometime arrogant--thus my hatred of arrogance) schools in the nation. Fashion, social aptitude, the whole deal, is important to social life here. Coming from outside this upperclass world and viewing it from the outside, I can tell you that in this elitist segment of the population, neither money nor looks will be enough to get you ahead. The keys are an awesome personality and class. The tattoos you suggested seem to suggest neither, rather they imply arrogance and a faddish, sleazy "pimp" ideal. I'm just warning you that a lot of people out there, a lot of people at the top of society, the ones you seek to emulate, would view these tattoos as pretty dumb. If they're what you want to do, regardless, fine. But you seem to be contradicting yourself.

Being the shit is in the eye of the beholder... I can totally think Britney Spears is the coolest (which she is), and other people will think she is a trashy little lying, no-talent poser.

It comes down to, as Lady Pi Phi says, what the beholder values. Someone will value Howard Stern and hold him as high as someone else may hold Malcolm X. Or, someone may value two people who are totally different, but both exceptional in their own way.

I believe that everyone is the shit, in their own way. I mean, I know of some total computer nerd losers, but they are so intelligent and raking in the cash. That is a reason to admire them, even though I don't enjoy spending time with people like that. They are successful.

I also know some girls who are total dumbasses and can't really hold the most intelligent conversations, but they would give their right arm for their friends and will get your back... always. That makes them the shit in the friend department.
