Post Seniors and awards

Just wanted to say good luck to all those going alum, you will be missed!! Last night we had our first senior send off dinner... it is new to us here and we also did awards. We had fun ones and other ones too.. (more serious). Just wanted to brag!! My roommate got most attached at the hip!! I got the sick again award, best big/lil (I am the big) and also most sorority spirit!! Yeah to my sisters!!! Love them so much and to Kim our VPF for getting best officer of the year!!! YAHOO!!!

You know what? This is the first semester in a long time where we don't have any seniors graduating. That's why ceremonies were shorter in length last Saturday...we didn't have Senior Rededication ceremony.

Last Winter we graduated 3 women. We did unofficial senior dinner things, culminating in Senior Aloha Night for the last Chapter meeting. Having awards at the final meeting sounds like a good idea, not to mention boosting chapter morale even more! I'll be sure to bring that up at our next meeting. On Graduation Day us AGDs are out in full force and our seniors get decked out with all their leis.

However, we do have one award that's voted on by everyone, and it's presented to a collegian at IRD. We call it the Blooming Rose Award, and it's given to the sister who most embodied the ideals of AGD in the past year. This year it went to Elana, our VP Recruitment! I think all VPRs should get an award for the amount of work they do.

We do an Alpha, Gamma and Delta award at IRD. We vote at our chapter meeting for the people. Alpha goes to the person who personifies what it stands for in intiation, Gamma to the person who personifies that (Think about that for a minute cause we don't vote on that award) and Delta the person that personifies that. It is really beautiful and moving too. It means a lot to everyone to receive those awards. At IRD we also give out the Alum of the year and the advisor of the year.

the awards for the alpha gamma and delta is a great idea. the only awards we have are given at our greek awards banquet which is tomorrow nite and we have awards for highest gpa, community service, and most alpha gam, and a few others too. we have two graduating seniors and they'll be missed a lot! good luck to the grads!!
